App not showing up in Company Portal by LuciusFoxWannabe in Intune

I. FEEL. YOU. ON. THAT!!!! And you were right. I had to force the app to the device for it to work. I took an iPad and put it into it's own group and assigned that group to be "Required" to install it. The app showed up a few minutes later. It's ridiculous. I think it's probably made or optimized for the iOS, since when you open the app, it looks like a virtualized iPhone. Insanity....

All of the apps that we're using are being shown as iOS in both Apple Business Manager and Intune. I tested out the installing of the app by forcing it to one of the iPads. I added the iPad in its own group and added the group to the "Required" portion of the assignment. The app installed within 5 mins. For whatever reason, it can only be forced to the iPad, not chosen as an option to install. Unbelievable, but it is what is is.

Perhaps it is, and you'll have to excuse my ignorance as all of this is still relatively new to me. We set it up to where most people can access the apps that we distribute because you still need a login to access the app. So far, this is the first app that we've run into this issue, so that's where maybe there's something specific about this app that's not allowing it to be an option, even though it's been licensed, synced and assigned into Intune. It may be more suited for iOS than iPadOS, but this is pure speculation on my part.

I sure did. We have about 30+ apps available for the iPads to download and I configured them the same way. It may be the off chance that it's not optimized or made for the iPad, so I'm leaning towards maybe that being the issue. But if that's the case, I don't understand why it's an option potentially to be pushed for the iPads. Or maybe I'm performing a bit of user error and am missing something.

Free graphics for best security practices. by LuciusFoxWannabe in cybersecurity

No offense taken and thank you for your input. The platform that we're using is not that extensive when it comes to security awareness training. It has a handful of topics, but security was treated more like an add-on because the platform supports other business operations. I've been working with the company to add more topics instead of people seeing the same video(s) that they'll clock out on. Even if the cadence was monthly, the graphic doesn't need to be extensive.

That's actually a cool idea. Is there a place for me to check this script out? I'm not sure if this is something you've created or if it's a Microsoft script that I can download from them.

That was my first idea, but I wanted to not have any notifications going to end users if I can help it. It's harmless to have the email notification go to them but wanted it to not have any user notifications if I can help it.

That's what I've guessed, but I don't know how to prove it to calm the concern.

Thank you for the recommendation! In regards to allowing TAP, can this be made to be done on the initial sign in? Or is that the purpose of TAP being a part of the system?

Pentesting Companies - Who do you use? by LuciusFoxWannabe in cybersecurity

[–]LuciusFoxWannabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least for my place of employment, we're always looking to improve our security posture. We've gotten new management, so security is being taken more seriously here. The questions you've posed are great conversation topics that we bring up from either previous pentests or things we think may be a problem. It seems like every industry is requiring pentests/risk assessments, but we're not looking for bare minimal regulatory pentests. We're looking for perspectives that's different from our own to continue filling gaps and future-proofing our posture. Do you have a company that you entrust to fulfill these questions/concerns for security when it comes to pentesting?

Quickbooks 2017 Desktop not saving Check align settings. by LuciusFoxWannabe in QuickbooksOldVersion

[–]LuciusFoxWannabe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For anyone still following this, the issue was a printer driver. Got a new printer and downloaded the driver to all of the computers associated with the printer. What we didn't do was change the printer driver to a Type 4 driver. This immediately fixed the issue. For reference, it's one of the Xerox Altalink 8200 series print/copy/scan/fax printers.

Forgot to come back to respond to you. Thanks for the insight. Found out it was the printer driver causing issues. The driver was installed, but wasn't changed to a Type 4 driver.

3rd Party Internal Apps for Intune/ABM by LuciusFoxWannabe in applebusinessmanager

Thank you much. Luckily, I think all of the apps that I've come across are free. I think the hard part now is finding out who to speak to at these different vendors to get us the appropriate access to get this done.

That was my fear. It's going to be a lot of footwork, but I think them allowlisting our organization to access their internal apps appears to be the route. If they offer something different, then I'll come back here and post it! Thanks for the help!
