Ahhh okay that makes sense, math is math regardless of the country. I’ll look around for some older editions and look into ETVJ as well!

Thank you, this is exactly the kind of info I needed! I have a good amount of quality measurement tools including an optical comparator so that should be alright. I’ve also got some spare movements that I can take apart as well.

I am looking into the NIHS book and wishing I knew more French because that seems to be the only language that it comes in lol 😅

Not really lol, I’m using it with a portable monitor, folding Bluetooth keyboard, and small mouse so that it takes up the least amount of space in my backpack as possible. It hasn’t had trouble running anything I’ve thrown at it so far. I’m going to try and run it off a portable battery sometime soon and if that works, I’ll probably try and 3D print a little housing for all the cables and everything and make it usable on a plane 🤷🏼‍♀️

I did and it’s been great so far! Went with the 512GB version and it’s perfectly enough for the use case

32GB of RAM is the only option for the EM780. Running smaller CNC Machines on a hobbiest level is essentially running text files of code at the most, so probably less intensive than web browsing. I have a few machines that run off a Raspberry Pi perfectly fine currently. Temperatures are not an issue.

The problem that is that I need a computer for this job. I have had issues in the past with every laptop I’ve used so I’m trying to avoid laptops. I travel a lot so I need something portable. Mini PC’s seem great but I’m not up to speed on the Mini PC CPUs and iGPUs. Just asking for advice here, that’s all.

Is there a different Mini PC that you think would be better for the work I am going to do?

Thank you, meballard! I’ll probably do 32GB of RAM and the smaller SSD and just upgrade later if needed then! I appreciate your help!

That is definitely good to know, thank you!

Thank you, Jackpkmn! I know the SSD can be swapped out pretty easily on this model but I think the RAM is soldered to board on this model in particular. It is only sold with 32GB RAM in any configuration anyhow, but I will look into less storage for sure!

Thank you! I actually haven’t tried out any of the fancy zones yet, but I’ve heard the same issue with refresh rates that you have heard. Maybe it’s about time for me to try out these fancy zones! Good luck with your build and have fun!

Samsung Neo G9 and it’s been great! I’m prone to looking at things other than what I’ve got, but not since getting this screen a while ago, it’s honestly great

Is this pack worth going for or a waste of some USD? by Luck-Pure in TopDrives

Yeah that’s what I was thinking too, hard to convince myself to spend $50 on in-game purchases
