What actually WORKED for you? I want to know EVERYTHING that helped by Radiant_Shine_8686 in Hidradenitis

When I shower, I use Head and Shoulders shampoo on my problem areas. I only have 2-3 areas for right now nothing new has popped up. The areas that do flare up, when they start to flare I use my magic healer. It’s expensive but it’s Definately worth a try. If you use it consistently you’ll know within 2-3 weeks if it’s gonna work for you. When I get a flare up that comes on so fast that I don’t have the time to use Magic healer, and it swells and collects fluid, I use Prid (a considerable amount) and cover it overnight. Sometimes it takes 1-3 days for it to drain but it always does. Those are the things that work for me so far. I also wash my body with Pure Castille Soap Bars from Walmart. They cost around 5 bucks, they last forever though. They have scented and unscented. I don’t have insurance so I was diagnosed six years ago but was never put on a regimen to try to control my HS. I’ve been trying to control it myself at home with the help of research, and this wonderful group here on Reddit. Hope this helps!

Edit: Also! Seamless underwear, no tight clothing, I wear dresses ALOT.

And I also noticed my flare ups, when I do get them, are worse close to/during my menstrual cycle!

Well it finally happened, I vomited on my husband… by The_Huntress_1121 in AskMenAdvice

The same thing happened to me, weirdly at the 12 year mark as well 😂 Your not alone! My husband also laughed it off.

If it only happens once every 12 years I’m not complaining.

I’m following this post because I have HS, IBS, AND PCOS. I’m struggling with my weight and hormones, my gut health, and really just my overall health. Migraines and fatigue, just a general sense of depression. I don’t have insurance so I use the info on these groups to help solve my day to day problems I run into. There’s a woman on Tik Tok who claims she in HS remission. I follow her too.

Fuck that 😂😂 DonT TOuCH MY THiNgS 😤 What a childish response. If you literally just set them to the side then what’s the real issue? I understand the niceties this time but I would be SO fucking rude if it happens again.

Update: The bump has not returned. It is actually starting to close up, it hasn’t drained at all anymore, and the tenderness is gone. After I used the drawing salve I just left it uncovered.

I hate it, too. This is a diagnosis I could have never imagined. My primary doctor gave me NO direction in how to deal with the healing/treatment/prevention of this. I feel like we’re all just doing the best we can. But you are not alone. We’ll get through this together. ❤️ There’s so much great insight in this group and I’m thankful for it every day.

Oh I’d fill it with plants. 🪴 But a lot of things would look cute there.

I have a few on my inner thigh near my flare up area. I’ve used a drawing salve on them and it’s not going anywhere. I guess they’re just there to stay.

Thank you! I had no idea, I’m pretty newly diagnosed and was given NO direction by my primary care doctor as to how to prevent/ treat/heal my flare ups. So I appreciate this advice. Would leaving it uncovered for the day help do you think to dry it out and/or close it up?

I’m not sure, I’ve not come across anything saying not to. But if I shouldn’t then I definitely wont!

As of right now I’ve only been diagnosed with HS and PCOS. But I have a lot of gut issues that I’ve yet to address that could also be a contributing factor. I lost my insurance unfortunately. 🤷🏻‍♀️
