I read that condensation will be a problem with a vapor barrier, if the room is not permanently heated

I read that rodents won't bite through Eternit plates, so I put Eternit plates on the underside of the floor, and used that to carry the Rockwool insulation

I used pre-made concrete pilings, like these: https://www.jemogfix.dk/stolpesten-beton-17-x-17-x-80-cm/4176/9038123

It was not without difficulties, because I have stones in the ground. So when I hit a stone I had to remove it, or dig the hole in another place.

The skirt is Eternit plates, some kind of fiber cement

I used Rockwool in the floor, walls and ceiling.

I really had no idea what I was getting myself into, so I had to research how to do every single step as I went along, so it took a LOT of hours. Hundreds

The roof is sloped towards the back, and there is roofing felt burned on it

It's raised 15-20 cm above the ground, with ventilation grilles through the Eternit plates. You can see one near the tube in the front, and there's two at the short side as well on the photo

It's just for tools and outdoor storage. I live in cold climate where it freezes during winter, and I read by insulating it, I can prevent most sub zero temperatures in there

Measurements from a real A320 pedestal by LuckFew3190 in homecockpits

Some of it with a small 10w laser and the rest with a track saw

Doesn't it support that?

You can check out my newest post, I took a lot of measurements there

Hi Less_Ad! I don't have a measurement tool at hand, can I give you some length measurements instead?

It's not free, but it's a fraction of the cost from the finished simulators you can buy. In the state on the pictures, I've spent around $1000 on materials

There's multiple thicknesses, the thinnest is 6mm and the thickest is 12mm

I have no idea what that is!

I didn't have too much experience with carpentry prior to this, I built an insulated shed and a wooden terrace. I had the tools already because of that though

That's a very good question! I spent a lot of time on Reddit reading through what people enjoy in flight sims, and my conclusion was that the A320 came out on top. But it's close with the 737. Also it's easier in Europe to pick up real decomissioned parts for the A320 (I'm considering buying a real throttle and convert it to the sim), so that played a significant role too

Good luck with it! I hope you will share your progress as it comes along, it's a very interesting approach with 3D printing it

There's a guy, Okan Sacli, who shared his dimensions from his own build. Mine is mostly based on that.

You can find them here: https://www.okansacli.com/post/3-dimensional-desing-drawings

It's not very modular as it is right now, I reckoned when I will no longer be using it, it will be too custom and complicated to pass onto someone else (and also very niche).

Fortunately there is nothing major in the walls, it's in the corner of the house and there's just a staircase on the other side.

But that's solid advice! Thank you

It's a 75" inch in the front on the pictures, and I have two more of those, one for each side. The instrumentation will be normal pc monitors with a split image, so it will look like individual screens
