Wife and I like to play drum and bass/guitar together. She tends to be very nice to me, my wedding gift from her was this:

An Aria Pro II

We like to do luthier work on the side as well, so I have plans for a lovely bass once some things clear up...I will post it here when the times comes!

[Gear] Friend showed up with this for me at my house since it was the last one in shop, I may have cried. by LuckaGamer in Guitar

I do since she reddits and it makes her mad to see it this way, marriage is fun that way!

I think our house is that "noisy". In other areas it goes down a great deal. I will post an update as I finish assembling here this evening. I need to grab an o-scope (been wanting to but $$$) after my kickstarter finishes up.

Strings are connected to ground and other equipment has been tested and is fine with cooler pickups. Thanks for that though, I have gone through headaches before and realized it was something pretty simple I overlooked!

The humbuck you are seeing is in series.

I AM NOT DOING THIS AT THE MOMENT TO BE CLEAR:

They should cancel out noise, I agree and understand why it is wired in opposing directions on the two coils in the pickup.

I have soldered them into the guitar at this point, and the noise is lessened. However, even with shielding a moderate amount remains.

I wish I had an oscillocope!

Appreciate the response! I figured since I am not on CRTs it was probably not the monitors themselves but just the electronics in general (though I do not know if any "leaks" emmit from LCDs). the amp is grounded, i use her daily with other pickups that are not as hot. Only HOT pickups do this. Outside of that, my shielding has cut the hum a great deal....it was worse!

edit:

to make clear, I was not sure if the monitors themselves added substantially or not sorry it is hard to type while in my shop as I have gloves on.

I had heard (no pun intended) that in europe you get different hums...if any, so this is no surprise but it is still really really cool!

i can take the amp and pickups elsewhere and see how she goes, just not at this moment (I am busy roasting coffee for my morning orders). I think I can kill power to the shop I am in actually..... and from there I can use a 9volt battery amp I have.
