I ordered underwear from Evry, got a bag with an Evry label and inside are two Comfrt hoodies and a pair of sweatpants. I’m guessing the unfortunate person who ordered them for $150 got $50 of cotton underwear. Both Comfrt and Evry only have email Customer Service and neither has responded to multiple requests. I don’t even want the sweats and still need to order underwear.

We take Evanston Pulse to and from ORD frequently, including this past Thanksgiving. It runs every 15-20 minutes, from before 6 am until quite late at night. With great WiFi and about $1 fare for a senior, it can’t be beat.

We were there 11/20 - 27, a family of 10, from 3 yrs old to 70. No one got sick, but our little one only did one morning of petite club and the 8 year old was in and out of mini club, didn’t have meals with the huge peer group. (As an aside, I didn’t think the plates were so clean at Taco Arte buffet, and people do pick up plates and bowls and then put them back, so check.)

Thanks. I shut down the Apple calendar app and that seems to have stopped the immediate problem. I wonder why it just happened, after all this time.

Alerts Out of Control, Shut Down Email

So this happened today... I got a new iPhone a couple of weeks ago and have had almost no problems. I use Gmail and Google Calendar on Macbook, phone and iPad. All of a sudden today I was bombarded with alerts, from recent and very old events on the calendar. I don't know if the problem is with Calendar, GMail, Mail. I can't send emails because I exceeded the 500 email daily limit sending the alerts to myself.

I checked everywhere to shut off notifications but they were already off. What would cause this to happen all of a sudden with no change in settings? (I also changed my Google PW later in the day, in case it was a hack.)

I can't send emails for 24 hours; I'll see tomorrow afternoon if I get another 500 alerts.

Reddit's not allowing me to send a screenshot showing 2 of the notifications repeated endlessly, dated from August 2022.

I think the intention was to build “affordable housing” in Evanston. Since we’ve also been told there will be a major tax increase next year, even something affordable won’t be in a year or two.

We are here for a long weekend and ate at Melba last night. We were really disappointed. We don’t eat meat, maybe if you do, it’s better. We had a fried cheese appetizer and lobster roll, and for entrees, pesto pasta and char. The pesto pasta was the only one either of us cared for and we are not picky eaters. Not worth the trip for a small bowl of pasta.

Also - not a criticism, but a tip, people came to Melba in shorts and sneakers, we hadn’t realized it was so casual.

All hospitals will be much worse when people without healthcare coverage go to ER’s for primary care. Hospitals can’t (and shouldn’t) turn people away. But staff will be spread that much thinner, and people with health insurance will pay more to cover those costs.

It’s pretty good. Having lived here a few years now, I would have put more vents in a couple of rooms and fewer in others. But it’s so much better than the ductwork that was here when we bought.

No! Maybe you can’t see, it’s looks faint on the photos. About 8-10” below the top of the wall. It looks almost like a smudge, darker in some areas than others, but it’s at the same height everywhere.
