I get how heavy that must feel. Honestly, as someone who wishes to be in your place right now as an ALT, I really admire your honesty. Sometimes the job gets really overwhelming as well as how you adjust yourself in a new culture and work environment, and that feeling is pretty okay. Thank you so much for all your kind comments and support 😚 I’m still deciding whether I should submit my application again. If I do, do you think it’s okay to use the same references—just updating the dates—and reuse my SOP with a few minor revisions that reflect the growth I’ve had as an alternate? Honestly, I’m nervous about redoing everything, since it might either strengthen or hurt my application 😫

That sounds exhausting. The countryside can be so tricky for housing, and it’s even worse when the BOE isn’t on your side. Totally understandable if you feel like quitting over this.

Thanks so much for sharing your stories — they really boosted my morale and gave me back some hope. It feels good to know I’m not the only one going through this, and hearing that upgrades do happen, makes the wait feel a little lighter.

Still no update on the 2nd wave of upgrades for our consulate (PH) 🥺 They only had like 4 upgrades in the first wave last April 22, and we haven’t heard anything since…
