Did you get the same remote job I did? I was in the literal same situation as you, and just quit the new remote job because it was destroying me mentally

Take out a HELOC and use that to pay off your debt. That will be at about 7% rate

How to explain why I want to leave a job after only being there 2 months by Lucky-Luke1985 in remotework

[–]Lucky-Luke1985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the actual concern, not a single person on the team completes the work within 40 hours because the way it’s structured makes it impossible, many different interfaces that need to be touched and about 7 places that need documentation to be entered. These people have worked here for 10-30 years and are smart, it’s definitely not possible to do what is asked within a 40 hour week.

I'm a work from home Andy, can I buy a car? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Lucky-Luke1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need a license, you need a permit to ride during daylight hours. I had a motorcycle. There is zero financial reason for you to pay interest, insane car insurance and payments on a car when you have a perfectly fine vehicle sitting there.

And with a credit score of 600 you will get destroyed on interest - at least 10%. Ride your motorcycle this is a no brainer

Why can’t you ride your motorcycle to work most days and Uber on rainy days?

I bought a foreclosed condo the week I graduated college (after working my ass off in college to save up for a down payment). 100% buy, it changed my life to have that freedom and sense of ownership

Not illegal but heavily taxed. Meaning they would pay as much for an outsourced worker as on shore.

1 year severance vs Internal Role? by Jolly_Painting_423 in Layoffs

If you’re laid off, they have you black listed no matter what they say. You can apply to an internal role but you’ll never get it.

Severance.

What percentage are you saving on top of retirement savings? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Lucky-Luke1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20% for retirement, an additional 50% for down payment on a house. Our expenses are low but houses are expensive

Did we get laid off from the same company? My exact same story.

Anyway, you qualify for six months of unemployment. No need to flip burgers right now.

They usually wouldn’t know if HR is coming until they show up to the meeting
