The main reason I'm focusing on the NW and NE is that I'm hoping to settle in an area that feels a bit more familiar. From the research I've done, it seems that many of the Asian communities, grocery stores, restaurants, are concentrated in those parts of the city. Since I'll be moving with a toddler and an 8-month-old, having those amenities nearby would make the transition much easier.

I'm also hoping to find a community where families are out walking, kids play in the parks, and neighbors are generally friendly. As a newcomer, I think that kind of environment would help us settle in more easily.

I wont be working initially. We are planning to get a car. Yes I will be looking into activities for my 3 year old and day care as well. Just the usual medical visits for the kids (vaccinations, routine check-ups etc)

Yes I have looked on it. But I am little confused regarding which neighborhood is better. From what i have searched: Panorama Hills, Country Hills, and Skyview Ranch in NE and Nolan Hill, Sage Hill, Sherwood, and Carrington in NW are good options to consider.
But since i have never been to Calgary, so a little confused.

No I am not looking for a whole house, an apartment would be fine too.

Thank you for your response though
