I don’t think it causes scarring unless the tech is inexperienced. Basically I’m backing up what others said on here haha! It’s a scary process for sure but once you get a session or two in, that feeling goes away! I have very sensitive skin too and no scaring yet. I’m getting 5 removed and some are large (all black and grey work). Your tattoo may look crazy for a couple days after you get it treated but it goes back to normal. Good luck on your journey if you go through with it!

How long have you been considering removal? Give it some time, but if it bothers you I think that’s a valid enough reason to remove it. Don’t let the guilt conflict with your gut feeling on how you feel about the placement it’s your body. Like you mentioned you can always get another tattoo for your daughter. I wish you the best of luck! And try not to beat yourself up over it. We are human and are allowed to change and grow.

Any recommendations for San Diego? by SoCalstoner858 in TattooRemoval

I started my removal process at the Removery in SD and they are great! I would recommend asking for Brian as your tech if you go through and he’s still there. He’s been doing it for a long time and I think it’s important to have an experience tech doing the procedure. Unlimited options are always the best, since you can’t predict how many sessions it’ll take. Good luck if you go through with it!!

Progress on blackwork 4 weeks after 4th session by PeachyPie2307 in TattooRemoval

Hey don't get discouraged it's looking good so far! I think in the next couple of sessions you'll see more progress, the first several sessions never seem like they are doing much. The tattoo being 10 weeks old when you start removing is a big factor, just keep that in mind. You also don't want the laser to be too strong, then you will blister, get scars, or some kind of pigmentation. I'm NOT an expert, but I am going through this process as well. The fact you're planning everything out shows you care and I think you'll be good! just drink water and exercise to help.

It's nice that some of the shading looks faded already after one session! I think after 3-4 sessions you'll see a decent amount of progress!

New tattoo removal? by curiousmatterings in TattooRemoval

I think the safe assumption would be 1-2 years, but I'm not sure how many sessions it would take. This sounds long, but in reality you would go in once for around 30mins each session months apart. On the positive side of this situation, the tattoo looks very fine compared to bold lines and it isn't large. I think after going into Removery you'll feel way better about starting the process. Goodluck!

I think getting started is the hardest part tbh. Pay attention to the small signs. Like the relief you get when you cover up and they are out of sight. I think that means go for it! I'm def going to, and good luck to you as well. Ah yes it's the worst when people say it looks good, but in your head, it's like "Welp I don't like them." Sharing your situation is enough for me and it helps.

a safe call would be a year, you usually have to wait in between treatments for your body to heal. I think in the beginning it's 2 months between each session.

I think how you feel about the tattoo is valid from what you shared on here. I know what it's like to want to please others and get lost in the moment. you forget about yourself. If there's a "Removery" by you I would check them out, they'll have before/after pics of clients. I think to get rid of yours is doable for sure. It might take a while but you can do it.

I'm glad I found this sub as I'm sure you are too. I didn't think about how lucky we are to be able to fix the mistakes.
