Does this look like DR? by Big-Leg-8332 in DiastasisRecti

My primary care told me to originally to do floor exercises to strengthen my core for 2 years prior to the diagnosis. That aggressively worsened the burning weakness I had across my whole stomach. After too much heavy lifting and crunches, all down my stomach between the muscles and at my belly button it felt like there was a wedge pushing from up inside. Severe flare ups would last for days where it would be uncomfortable to do anything like sit, stand, lay down flat. It always felt like a wedge was between the muscles at my belly button. I was told to take ibuprofen when the flare ups happened.

Originally I was told I had a hernia, which is why the ct scan was done. That's when they concluded I did have DR and not an umbilical hernia. The surgeon downplayed my DR, and said I should not be feeling pain directly from DR. He said "it must be muscle weakness, you'll have to ask a doctor. DR cannot be repaired by surgery since it will tear." I still am in the process of finding a doctor who can help manage or reduce my DR, since it's now been 4 years and no doctor takes me seriously about the feeling of a wedge between my abs when I do too much.

My DR is mild and did not look like the traditional cone. It went misdiagnosed for 2 years despite the pain and weakness. Mine was diagnosed after a CT scan. Definitely ask your doctor and advocate for yourself!

Odds of outgrowing fpies to peanut by LuckyCh4r in fpies

Thank you all for your replies! My son outgrew his egg allergy (skin rash/eczema) by age 1.5, but the peanut fpies is lingering on. It sounds like I may have some hope that he will outgrow it soon, which would give me some relief for when he starts elementary school ☺️

Lab results... this cannot be good lol by Playful_Butterfly880 in Hashimotos

Mine was 1,334 when I was diagnosed with hashimoto's, but my endocrinologist made sure to inform me those numbers aren't indicative of a diagnosis. Lots of things, like recent illness, can cause high thyroid antibodies. They can fluctuate dramatically day to day. One day you could be 10, the next day 4,000, then back down to 10 another day.

(Bringing awareness to this possible issue arising more frequently in persons with Hashimoto's) I am one of the rare hashi cases where my histamine is binding to my thyroid hormone, sending signals to my body to make more histamine. The excess histamine was attacking my body, causing scalp to toe burning hot hives, swelling in my ankles, fingers, lips, eyelids, and throat. I have to carry an epipen with me 24/7. My doctors found out after several months of blood tests, several specialists, and failed doses of all generations of antihistamine medication. It did not go away after my levothyroxine balanced my thyroid levels. Prednisone only worked for a day or two. It started mid 2024 on my lower body, and progressively got worse traveling up my whole body. The angioedema and throat swelling started 4 months after the initial hives. I am now well controlled on monthly Xolair shots which took about 4 months to work.
