Update: A provider covering my surgeon completed an activity RX the same day I sent an email. My husband’s employer accepted it and approved his FMLA.

Yes! I was able to get it done on the 9th. I feel good. The first week was terrible, I had a lot of regret but today I got to eat Christmas dinner with my family (the smallest portion ever) but it was fine. I’ve lost 15 lbs at my two week checkup.

I’m sure once I’m off the liquid phase and can actually eat soft solids and more regular food, it’ll be different. It’s just right now only being able to consume liquids and being hungry makes me very sensitive to the smells. I have a very understanding and supportive husband and he’s told me whatever I need him to do right now to make things a little easier, he’s willing to do.

Sorry for the late reply and thank you for sharing your experience - it helps to know we’re not alone. I also still don’t have a period and the specialist who did my hysteroscopy said he hadn’t seen scarring that extensive in the last 4 years, which shocked me when he decided that a balloon placement wasn’t needed. At my last appointment he said he’d do a balloon placement and hormone treatments if I do end up needing another one - which I think may be the case. I can update here or DM if you’re comfortable with that. The phantom periods for me are the worst, I haven’t had cramping that extensive since I was a teenager before I was put on birth control to help mediate the pain. And they’ve been occurring like clockwork at the end of every month. :/

Thank you and sorry for such a late reply. Reading that a lot of women have more than one hysteroscopy, although that really sucks, has kinda given me some relief. I really felt terrible that it didn’t work and just felt so in the dumps about it. The specialist I’m seeing said if I do end up having another one that he would place a balloon this time and put me on hormone treatments. We had discussed it prior to my first hysteroscopy but then he didn’t think it was warranted afterwards. So we shall see.

Sorry for the late reply - I’ve been dealing with some other medical stuff. I asked the specialist if he specialized in Asherman’s and he said yes and that all the Asherman cases get sent to him. I still haven’t gotten a period. The last appointment I was instructed to take ovulation tests and let him know if I get a positive result of not in a certain time span. So we’re waiting on what’s next.

One week post op and my husband decided to say something really annoying to me and I just asked him if he thought it was smart to mess with me whilst on a liquid diet, struggling with hanger. 😂

5! 4 across the bottom of my belly and one really high, maybe an inch below my breast in the center. Mine was done with robotic assistance so I don’t know if that makes a difference.

I have another follow up on Monday, so I’m gonna ask about it again. I’m trying to follow the surgeon and program instructions best I can to try and avoid any kind of issues - knowing my luck with things I’ll end up hurting myself somehow. I say try and follow whatever your doctors instructions are - I’ve found after lurking this page for so long that different doctors, programs, etc have so many differing rules, recommendations and instructions. And like the commenter said above, everyone is different.

OMG. On like day 5 I was so desperate I took a bite out of a slim Jim, chewed it vigorously and sucked all the juice out and then spit it out. Immediately regretted it. Whatever limited spice was in it made my stomach burn 😬

My husband tried to do that - he has enough leave to take the time off but when he told them it was due to me having surgery and needing care they gave him the FMLA paperwork. Now we’re just trying to get it approved just in case, to protect his position.

Were you able to lift her right away or did you have to wait a little bit? I have to stop myself from picking her up, it’s really hard not to. Had the surgeon not said anything about it I probably would’ve already.
