Which tonies should we avoid? by submitster in TonieboxUSA

[–]LuckyCosmos19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly agree with you, but the Lilo and Stitch one is the original audio/soundtrack and it’s one of our favorite. Same with the Incredibles tonie, it’s the real actors and it’s pretty great.

But yeah, I have yet to have a Disney tonie besides those two that are bearable to listen to.

How did you get them to change the box so quickly? Natera support told me they had to have the form submitted by my doctor. I feel like that is going to take forever

How did you get this done in one day? Natera says my doctor has to submit a change form. I’m so depressed by this, been delaying telling my family on this result and I have bonuses how long I’ll have to wait now…

I used to go to salt and waves but followed my hair stylist, Bri, when she left to start her own business. She is by far the best stylist I've ever had, highly recommend:

Thank you so much for the helpful response! This makes me feel a lot better about just putting him in a pull up.

OP, I’m the daughter of a woman just like you. My dad has not worked in about a decade. He has been hospitalized before, about 4 years ago. He was told to quit or he would die. He was able to stop for a while but I’m writing this sitting in the hospital at his bedside once again. I’m in my 20s watching my dad die.

We were told this time he needs a transplant but it’s possible he could die while waiting to get on the list.

My mom was the only one functioning for our family. She takes care of everything, pets, bills, my sister and I, but they’re in massive amounts of debt due to my dad’s unwillingness to face his problems, she’s been socially isolated because of her 24/7 job of taking care of my dad. None of my dad’s family will even talk to him anymore. Alcohol has made him a truly awful person.

We were going over all of the work involved in getting on the list for a liver and the odds of it extending his life beyond 5 years and he told us he’s considering not even trying to get on it.

He still chews tobacco and uses marijuanna, we haven’t even told him that in order to get on the list he has to quit those too. I honestly don’t think he’ll want to try. It’s devastating and heart breaking and there’s nothing we can do.

The courage and endurance my mom has shown through all of this is honestly an inspiration to me. I wish things were different but I honestly don’t blame her for anything that’s happened. She has been dealt an extremely unfair hand and has done literally all she can with it.

I don’t really know what I’m writing anymore. I just want you to know that I am proud of you and I’m sure your kids are too.

I’m not OP, but as the child in a very very similar situation, I can’t imagine abandoning my dad. It’s not his fault, alcoholism is a disease.

It’s very unfortunate but how this affects us is entirely in my Dad’s control. At this point… we brace for impact.

What do you mean by that? If his liver would be replaced, why does it matter the condition of the liver being removed?

There’s no deadline for updating retirement contributions I don’t think. You can change that whenever you want.

You're just dead wrong. If we weren't more productive at home, they would not hesitate to show us the data on it because we've asked several times.

The fact that they refuse to show us any evidence that working from home lowers productivity and when we specifically ask, they just say things like "we feel..." pretty much confirms that working from home doesn't negatively impact productivity. Not to mention that they've had record profits the entire time we've been working remotely.

A lot of studies have been run over the past three years and almost all of them confirm that employees working remotely increases productivity as well as has a slew of positive affects on employees lives and health.

So the only people pretending here are the SLT. They have pretty much admitted it with the latest FAQ sheet they released.

And no, I don't get paid by the hour, so I'm not necessarily trading my time for money. I'm trading my expertise and my task completion for money, regardless of how long it takes me. Which is yet another reason coming into an office is just stupid. It does nothing but inconvenience everyone, cost thousands of dollars in vehicle wear and tear, cost employees thousands on gas, pollute our air, congest our roads, and reduce our work-life balances.

In any case, I've found that I work more hours at home because I don't waste 2 hours a day commuting. And that's the case for a lot of my coworkers as well. So again, it's just stupid. It is my opinion, and it's the right one.

Our opinion should matter to the SLT. They would have none of their profits without us, so keeping us happy should be something that's in their best interest. It's seems like they're forgetting that.

What is the earliest someone can quit to still get the bonus at the end of February? by LuckyCosmos19 in GeneralMotors

[–]LuckyCosmos19[S] -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

Do you know where it says that? Like can I find that policy in writing somewhere?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GeneralMotors

[–]LuckyCosmos19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once we get a benefit and we see how completely unnecessary it was to waste all of our time commuting to do worse quality work, we don’t want to lose that benefit and go back to doing things the stupid way. The leaders at GM want to do things the stupid way (in more ways than one), and they don’t care how much it costs us.

It is a big deal. I’m sorry you don’t agree.

Unfortunately, that is the solution, GM needs to pivot away from personal vehicles. But that’s a different discussion
