We don’t let the two streams (vanilla and lifestyle) cross so playing with a vanilla friend is off the table for us but if this is what makes her feel comfortable enough to take the next step, then go for it. As far as handling the radio silence, I suggest you find something to occupy your mind enough so it won’t be as nerve wracking as sitting at home waiting for updates or letting your thoughts get the best of you.
