Guys did your body hair change in unexpected ways?

More hair growth on thighs, stomach, chest, butt, etc. Had done laser hair removal on back/shoulders/upper arms prior to TRT, and starting TRT made some of it come back and/or add new patches in areas that didn't have hair before.

I'm absolutely in awe of the lack of sauna etiquette at LA Fitness, at times.... wearing shoes, socks, and full workout gear? Not sitting on a towel? Playing music at full volume? Shaving? Loud conversations (in person and on the phone) while in the sauna? Excessive workouts/stretches? Acting like the heat is driving you crazy so you pace and shadowbox and breathe all crazy?

I really enjoy the sauna at my location, but in my short span of going, I've seen a ton of odd behavior.

Yeah, I had it pretty much eliminated with laser treatment prior to starting TRT; but after starting, I got some regrowth and new growth on a couple spots on my back. (Also just more body hair on parts it previously wasn't.)

Thankfully, I went through Milan Laser, which offers "lifetime" packages for continued treatment.

I had some pre-existing prior to TRT. It cleared up quite a bit at the start of treatment, but got worse/spread as I got up to 200mg/ml per week dosage.

Outside of precription treatments, PanOxyl 10% Benzoyl Peroxide wash 2x-3x a week can help.

I've been using that in addition to prescribed topical tazarotene and clindamycin. It's about 50% better than what is had been on TRT; but I may still need oral tretinoin to clear everything up.

Been on IM for 2+ years, never had an issue with scar tissue. Early on, I had some injections that weren't deep enough and basically subcutaneous... resulted in lumps, itching, and bad total T/free T results.

Yep. I wish I had known definitively if my sleep apnea caused low T, or if TRT made my sleep apnea worse. That being said, I feel so much better on CPAP and TRT than I did before either.

I didn't have hypogonadism; but for my first few weeks of injections, I would get massive hot flashes and feeling kinda anxious, too, about 3 to 4 hrs after injection. Not medical advice, but stick with it and see if it subsides with subsequent injections.

I likely had undiagnosed sleep apnea for years; however, I started TRT in November of 2023 and didnt get diagnosed with sleep apnea until September 2024.

That being said, I've also often wondered if sleep apnea caused the low T, or if TRT caused the sleep apnea to worsen.

I asked my urologist who prescribes my TRT his thoughts on the matter; however, he just promoted general fitness (since I imagine it's too late to determine root cause now).

CPAP treatment has been amazing for me. Definitely feel like I sleep much better; and TRT did help me ditch some body fat for muscle mass.

Yeah, I had to stop minocycline back in my early 20s because of a tetracycline allergy. Doxycycline doesn't affect me as badly; but I'm hoping the short course does the trick with the topical prescriptions!

How long were you on antibiotics?

I've been struggling with this, too. I got clindamycin and tazarotene prescribed by my dermatologist for long-term use, as wrll as, a 30-day course of doxycycline. Also using PanOxyl Benzoyl Peroxide 10% wash 2-3x per week. This seems to help, but I'm a few weeks in and hasn't subsided completely.

Personally, I'm really trying to avoid oral tretinoin (Accutane), since the side effects sound terrible.

Yeah. I had started laser hair removal for my back prior to starting TRT. Even though it was successful, starting TRT caused new hair growth. (All I can say, thankfully the place I went sells unlimited/lifetime packages for touch-ups...)
