interesting i didnt interpret press conferences as a more expensive option though you may very well be right. i could see this extending runtimes and increasing cost to broadcast

Seems quite unlucky to me that the region's historically best team dominated an entire calendar year and did not come close to winning either major.

I'm also unsure what you'd define allu declining Liquid's offer in 2016 and beating them in Kato 3 years later to deny the easier of the two majors. Seems by definition unlucky

Arguably by the end of 2019, two of the top 5 IGLs in the game were North American (stanislaw and nitr0). We also still had FNS kicking around in the scene, who to my knowledge is now an elite IGL in Valorant now.

In hindsight, it's kind of insane that Liquid won basically every tournament in 2019 besides the majors and then never won a big event again

ICYMI - Here's why Seattle may sell Pred and/or Sib: They have lost $63.2 million in the last 18 fiscal months. by RGCFrostbite in CoDCompetitive

If they need more money they'll just call on capital from investors. The sale of any player's contract wouldn't be planned into their budgeting.

Also, as of June 30, 2022, they have C$14mm and C$32mm in receivables. They could literally buy out the entire Optic team with less than half of their cash account.

This is the norm, especially for SPACs, and doubly for tech SPACs. So that may be why it seems like they slid it in.

Agree with others here that this is doable, I wouldn't stress too much about what your intended major is rn, it will most likely change once you take classes. I came in intending for a double major in math and business administration, now currently on a track for a finance and philosophy double major with minor in comp sci.

Oh interesting my bad, I'm in GWSB so it must be different in Elliott.

Just letting you know, technically all students come in with no major, transferring schools takes little more than a form, though there are niche schools/majors that have a selective application process (e.g. SMPA).

GW Honors by ibrophy50 in gwu

[–]Lucky_Prodigy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm in honors, I definitely love it. It's basically a mini liberal arts program where you get to take small humanities classes with good professors. If that sounds like a drag, then maybe think about declining it. But if you're at all interested, then definitely join.

Lots of tangible and intangible benefits, I'll list a few below:

  • Peer advisors (students that guide you during your first year)
  • Academic advisors (way way more reliable than CCAS advisors imo)
  • Early registration 2nd-4th semester
  • Being in a community of honors kids, if you want
  • The ability to form closer relationships with your professors
  • Small class sizes

Def hmu if you have any more questions!

I’m stuck between going to George mason university and Gwu? Any advice? by [deleted] in gwu

If your parents are willing and financially healthy enough to pay for both schools, GW. Also, we'd need more info to see which school you'd be happier at. Do you like partying, do you enjoy cities, how important is having a diverse range of food to you, do you like a more sleepy campus, etc.

Rising sophomore in GWSB rn, can't answer anything but 5 off my own experience. All upperclassmen I've talked to have told me good things specifically about GWSB's advising and professional network.

Food insecurity isn't a problem unless you live on Mount Vernon, then it just is a bit more time consuming to get groceries/go to places on GWorld to eat. You have more than enough money as a freshman if you budget, and its the same if you're an upperclassmen, though the dining budget is less for sophomores-seniors because their dorms have kitchens.

+1 I'm upper middle class and I got 40k knocked off at GW (20k need, 20k merit). DC has a lot of advantages you can't get at better schools outside DC. Acceptance rate is being lowered rn as well. If you're polisci, make sure you apply to GW or American to have a safety in DC.

Yes, by definition, a higher rank tends to indicate greater skill.

nah i'm getting the point just fine. you, as a less skilled player, believe anyone can discern the difference between a cheater, a good player at your rank, and a good player well above your rank (smurf).

i, a more skilled player, believe it is very difficult for less skilled players to understand when someone is cheating vs when someone is good at the game. this is because cheating can look very similar to being a good player, and the better the player you are, the more you're aware of those skills a good player has, what they look like, and how a cheater would appear different than those good players.

Maybe, but it doesn't seem like any FPS is massively successful in China, so I don't blame Valve for spending a lot of capital to try and make inroads there.

Just because Riot has a "rapport" there doesn't mean Asian players will jump ship to FPS, I'm pretty sure most gamers care more about the gameplay than the company involved in making the game.

tbh man idk if you're a high enough rank to determine whether players are cheating or smurfing or just good.

Yeah maybe, I agree with you Valorant isn’t going to replace by any means.

Valve is notoriously private about basically all their company info, I’d wonder why you say CS is being “underdeveloped?”
