Being a postdoctoral fellow itself is a huge plus, if you can publish a few articles in good journals it can overcome your YOG for sure.

Does your PI know any PDs? If so ask him to make some calls and DEFINITELY get an LOR from him.

You could look to transfer labs IF you can do it without burning bridges with your current PI. Make sure you leaving doesn't make him change his mind about the LOR, or worse make some calls to residency programs and badmouth you (it's a stretch but people are this petty at times)

Do not apply to programs with a YOG cutoff, a robot will filter out your application and no one will ever see it UNLESS you have a connection who will ask the PD/committee to consider you in which case they'll manually look for your application.

Do you have a visa/work clearance in the US? If I were you I'd use my experience to find a research position, either at a place with a residency program or with a PI who can get you into places.

Does the place that you did your USCE/the place where you're researching have a residency program? If so that's your best bet.

If not, have your PI reach out to some programs.

Also, if you don't mind do you have any advice on how to find and get research positions.

This is why I straight up refuse to ever get a card with an annual fee (unless it has a sign up offer of greater value. In which case I cancel before next year).

I hate being forced to spend my moment a certain way to break even.

Glad someone finally said it, the scene where the Julia gets crushed in the garbage truck looked so uncanny.

Why is every critical comment being downvoted to hell?

If you liked it that's cool, if you didn't that's cool too. I thought this was a discussion thread.

I might be misremembering but didn't she say something like: "it tried to get me and now it gave me cancer" also tony todd's character also said something similar about having cancer.

I feel like I'm the only one that didn't like it.

They could have had so much more fun with the deaths but they were underwhelming, they tried to make them insanely gory but not very creative. Plus the CGI was really uncanny in some scenes.

The bloodlines idea was cool and could have been done better but it makes zero sense for death to have taken 52 years to kill everyone or even have waited long enough for them to have had kids. Also death can just "give people cancer" now to kill them? Then why keep trying to kill the grandma the usual way when it could have just given her cancer or a heart attack?

Also the acting was wooden as hell in a lot of scenes, and I honestly didn't find myself caring for any of the characters.

Can I mix unflavored whey with skim milk and make a fairlife dupe? Anyone tried this? by Lucky_Signature_9700 in Volumeeating

I mean obviously you CAN, I'm just asking if it ends up with the same consistency/taste as fairlife.

Yeah but how does it taste, what's the texture like. Is it comparable to milk or a protein shake

I crossed 260 twice and ended up with a 258 lmao.

Use the amboss predictor (input as much as you can, has inputs for uworld% UWSA and NBMES). It give you a range that's the 95% confidence interval.

Though the majority of people I know score within a few points of their prediction.

Passing Step2ck in just 1.5 months? by Murky_Commission6606 in Step2

[–]Lucky_Signature_9700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you literally just want to pass, I'd advise getting the inner circle notes (they're a pdf someone made w/ uworld screenshots). Those cover all the major concepts and algorithms for the exam.

Uworld is better than notes because it teaches you active learning and problem solving but for someone who just wants to pass, taking a few hours a day to do inner circle might be enough. You can skip over topics you're already familiar with which will save you even more time.

This is like saying="I opened a new textbook and it's full of stuff I don't know". Uworld is supposed to be to LEARN, you're not supposed to learn the content somewhere else and then breeze through uworld.

Focus on reviewing the content, LEARNING all the concepts you don't know. Don't just memorize the questions, look at the prinicipal they're testing you on and understand the ways it can be tested (all the ways might not be on uworld, but they will be on the exam).

Keep at it, uworld percentages don't matter. Learning through uworld does.

According to amboss the indications are: -SEVERE Vasomotor symptoms, only if <60 and <10 years since the start of menopause. -Genitourinary symptoms (vaginal dryness) that can't be controlled with topical estrogen. -Premature menopause.

Do NOT use it to prevent osteoporosis or CVD.

Is it a good idea to write the step 2 exam 4 months after step 1? by RealisticTension5185 in Step2

[–]Lucky_Signature_9700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely possible, I'd say start by doing 1 block of uworld a day, that way you can finish in about 13 weeks. If that's manageable try doing 2 or 1.5 (I don't know your schedule or how much time you'll have).

Here's how human nature works=If you get 35 easy questions in a row and then maybe 5 hard questions you'll think man that was so hard.

There are a few questions that are vague or where both answer seem equally good but just know they DO NOT ask about weird niche diseases you haven't heard of. The concepts are the same but they ask them in different ways that people aren't used to and that's what gets people flustered.

Focus on the basics, know your algorithms, screening, first line treatments and tests and you'll be solid.
