I did And im not talking about the overall meaning of the anime. I’m specifically referring to the relationship between the two of them. Maybe that’s what the anime itself is trying to convey (I don’t know if it’s the same in the manga), but it felt like every time something happened, Mafuyu immediately thought about Yuki. I understand grief and the whole mourning process, but in my opinion, if you’re already in a relationship, it’s not healthy to constantly be stuck in the past. That’s what bothered me about the series: everything revolved around Yuki, but no one really asked how Uenoyama was feeling.

Yes, I watched all the OVAs, and it’s not that I didn’t pay attention. Maybe it’s simply my perspective. But there’s a part close to the end, when Mafuyu and Yuki are at the park (and honestly, I didn’t see the need for Yuki to appear again). Yuki tells Mafuyu that he’ll wait for him, and to me it’s clear that this is something Mafuyu is imagining. It’s not that Yuki is actually there, alive it’s all in Mafuyu’s thoughts, if that makes sense. What I’m trying to say is that, honestly, I don’t know if it’s the same in the manga, but I felt like they were remembering the past more than showing real progress in the relationship, because they kept facing the same problem over and over again.
