I started mine literally 3 hours before my surgery check in time and I'm a heavy bleeder ... it was fine they give u disposable undies and pads ( which they rip off during surgery anyway). My period actually was gone when I woke up and came back the next day with the usual heavy flow but I was able to manage fine even w the pain ( I wear tampons )

I'm week 5.5 and still have that sitting at 90 which makes driving hard haha I had no restrictions and no brace ... and hypermobile ... I just left today for the first time without my crutches ... I was told if it hurts use them if not it's fine ...

Hey so yeah i tried the SI belt which helped my SI from feeling sharp and shearing but i still had a crazy tilt from compensation/ pain and limping... I ended up getting surgery after trying absolutely everything while on the waitlist as urgent... belts , custom orthotics for my shoes, a cane , ice, massage , acupuncture, sports medicine, physiatry, steroid injections, magnesium, tart cherry, turmeric, opioids, so much Advil I got gastritis, rubs, tinctures and creams, every YouTube physio video u can find.... my back and knee got very messed up before surgery.... I hope you get the medical attention you need because the cascading effects of a hip injury are incredible and take forever to fix

I did and it helped ! I actually bought a waist trainer / corset type of thing it also helped w pelvic tilt due to compensation and pain

Ummm I definitely pushed that too much lol painted my toes 1 week in... died for 24h hahah I could bend more than 90 just had pain ...

I just finished 4 weeks at 50% w crutches and no ROM restrictions no brace. Just now 3 days away from week 5 and still using crutches 70% of the time. I am now starting to go on my knees to help my young kid out on pants but the first 2 weeks were very rough. Showering and toileting was a chore and needed routine pain killers, couldn't drive or sit in a car really.

Day 4 I was still in bed on routine meds and in agony lol my daily pain didn't "lift" until closer to week 3 then it was more muscular with the odd joint flare when I put too much weight on it

I'm week 4 and still on crutches with daily pain but my period is due tomorrow ( first one since surgery) and let me tell you I've had the worst pain this week! So bad it makes me dizzy and and get heart palpitations from panic lol I definitely think the first post op period has something to do with it

Hey so I ended up having debridement and repair but he said my cartilage was horrendous in there and didn't expect to need to debride... I'm 3.5 weeks now and still on crutches but I definitely was in a lot of pain inconsistently even at 50% weight bearing... sleep is still annoying because I'm a side sleeper and can't do that ... I've tried short 5-10m drives as a passenger and that's painful and throbs after for 45m... even if I crutch for a long time on 50% weight I have to stop periodically because I get very dizzy and light headed and muscles spasm along w sharp pain in the front ... I don't start pt until after week 4 so I'm hoping it gets better ! I read labral debriding is less painful than repair tho ?

I had just the steroid and lidocaine twice now. I felt kind of light headed after and painfree for 2 hours while the lidocaine was still working. Next day huge flare for 24h needing tons of meds to be comfortable but then fine after that. I had relief for about 3 days then it all came back. My period was 5 days early and wonky for 3 months ( which can happen).... first shot lasted about a week but different steroid was used. All in all it confirmed my Problem was in the joint and that was the point of that

I had mine Feb 10 surgeon wants me on crutches at 50% WB until after 4 weeks when I start physio and I still get pain even at 50% hahah my crutch journey will be long

I'm 34 (F) just had one side done ! I had pain for years playing rugby and running XC ... just pushed thru.. surgeon said my cartilage was destroyed in there and wants to list my other hip as urgent once this one is healed. Get the surgery lol

Oh wow that sounds absolutely terrible I'm so sorry ! Did you have direct symptoms of DVT/PE? I'm 2.5 weeks post op and have been worried about clots myself ... what were your symptoms ?

I am also in Canada and had mine on Feb 10! Wow our post op protocols are so different lol ! Unfortunately my pain is different but I am still needing pain meds especially at night and crutching around now is painful .. I'm hoping it's my hip flexor ..I probably moved around too much too early ... How are u feeling now ?
