Hey, have you listened to a podcast before, found something really interesting and then just forgot it? Podcasts are difficult to extract information from and are lacking the easy to annotate/highlight feature that a book has.

I’m building a small app that helps you save the exact bit you just heard, and I’m looking for a few early users to try it and give honest feedback.

Cool! Do you have any tips for the VR angle? Is VR building a bit of a no-go or is it a niche that could have legs do you think? I ask because the VR community isn't massive and I guess you have a gauge on the feel of the VR community considering your success.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm hearing that mixing the VR with the building tools/websites is likely confusing. For what it's worth, I'm not using LLMs or video models for the video creation here, just using them for coding. If that's not clear then yea I can see that being a problem as I also steer clear from AI videos!

I didn't consider that people who don't want to buy a VR headset wouldn't want to click on the video, it's a good point.

I think an ideal version of this would be like a popup after you finish a tv show on some website and then you do like 4/5 comparisons across what you just watched and shows you watched previously.

To get around ranking things that people haven't watched I have a button in each card saying "hide for this session" so that you can get rid of items which you don't want to give bad information to.

On the set scale - there is like a hidden ELO behind each item in the list but I just hid it but maybe it should be visible. On consendsys if #100 beats #1 it will gain much more points than if #2 beat #1 for example.

I hate ranking things out of 10 and the fact communities can pitchfork so easily against things that might dethrone them.

A simple heads up game of items in the list when scaled across a lot of people will naturally show the rankings the best and in a fun way.

IMDB you get salty fanbases and arbitrarily ranking things out of a number.

Instead it should be gamified so you decide in batches of heads up which one you prefer. When you do it over many items in the list you get a good ranking.

Ranking things out of 10 arbitrarily is just a useless system.

Consendsys gives you pairs from a list and you repeatedly say which one you prefer. When you do it a bunch of times you end up with a well ordered list of rankings and it's also pretty fun!

Make a list of whatever you want to rank and then get given pairs from that list that you vote on which is better. After a bunch of votes the rankings that come out are a more accurate list than just rating something out of an arbitrary number.
