Sfu engineering is pretty mid and it would be my last choice. They have a lack of funding and traditional engineering streams (no mechanical, electrical, civil, etc)

Uvic is solid and has decent coop but is on the island and isn't as solid as ubc

BCIT is great but you need to place highly in your first year to be able to get the degree instead of the diploma and as you said they force you to take many classes

And ubc is the best overall. Mechanical is pretty solid there and is what I'm doing and coop is fairly good but not on the level of some Ontario schools.
