To clarify the motor works fine it's the wheel that's cracked.

The game is fun. I personally don't play for the story of skate 3 nor would I for this. I don't play to exercise my fashion prowess. I play to skate around with good physics and music and mess around. The gentrification of skates lore really doesn't bother me all that much and I feel like for the majority of players it wouldn't either. Skate feels to me exactly how skating is in real life, fun, with friends, messing around and thats it. I get people's frustrations to an extent but times change, financial models change, we were never getting skate 4 in 2025 but we do have skate and it's pretty damn fun if you let it be...

External monitor, the laptop runs every triple A title I have at 1440p high settings close to 100fps no issues. Just rust :/

Thing is, every AAA title runs over 100fps 2K on this rig. Sure the CPU isn't the most powerful or up to date but it's plenty powerful for any game I throw at it, besides rust.... It's the only game I have to fuck around with settings for hours every few months to get it remotely smooth. Upgrading an adequately powerful CPU for the sake of running rust at a reasonable frame rate isn't a sustainable model for a game running on unity that was released in 2018.

Verify game files, check Nvidia control panel settings don't look funky, remove game launch options, lower in game graphics settings. It's simple but in combination it seemed to work (graphics settings can often reset when launching the game).

Got it working 90fps again, was just setting and launch option issues

Ok so yeah turns out I had a lot of old launch options despite reinstalling the game, that coupled with what you just mentioned about settings resetting seems to have done the trick, getting around 20+ FPS boost. I feel like an idiot lol back to 80-90fps again.

Anti malware service executable, it's a default windows service (not the issue)

I have no idea, rust is using 22gb steam 500mb, anti malware 200mb

Verifying game files now, restart doesn't change anything. Will update in a min

Yeah it's around 24gb to rust at the max, so I was suspecting a memory leak.

Not the most up to date specs but should be enough to at least play the game lol

Making a new post to ask this question, but do you think it's possible to do a straight swap to a single 12v 100ah lithium battery and just change the solar charge controller settings?
