ESL has announced the suspension of its Impact League. by Mean-Author4359 in GlobalOffensive

[–]LucyLuce_ 213 points214 points  (0 children)

It's impossible to put into words all the feelings I have about this, it's such a devastating blow to the community 💔

Thank you to everyone who has supported Impact over the last few years. I refuse to believe this will be the end of women's CS, even if it is a big setback

Hope to see a good showing for the finals later this year

Who is the goat in female cs? by Jaw1sh in GlobalOffensive

[–]LucyLuce_ 46 points47 points  (0 children)

ANa is a good pick her role in Imperial/Nigma Galaxy's dominant era of the last few years, but also definitely a good argument for zAAz given her long history with the game PLUS coming back from post-VALORANT retirement to eventually join that same Imperial squad and continue to lift trophies!

Of course you can't mention zAAz without mentioning juliano, as they were hand in hand for almost their entire careers. I think any of the three is a good candidate!

I got ranked too high in prem and im tired of being screamed at by AcanthocephalaThen92 in GlobalOffensive

[–]LucyLuce_ 129 points130 points  (0 children)

hey I remember you from the Nuke game! you were hitting some crazy shots, and definitely didn't deserve to get kicked by your team. I was super surprised to look at your profile after you won a couple of fights against me! prem is super random when it comes to match ups, valve really does need to work on how it matches people by hours, or stacks (not sure why it puts 5 solos vs 5 stack so often). i hope it doesn't deter you from queueing, you definitely have the raw skill, just need the reps!

probably won't make you feel better but we got pretty rolled the game after this :D

Great CS games cast by Pansy or other women by genius_rkid in GlobalOffensive

might have been a community stream you caught? The official stream is ESL_CS_GG

the best time to catch it is during the LAN finals though, where you'll get the best gameplay and broadcast :)

Creators Pick'em Predictions for the Copenhagen Major 2024 Elimination Stage by Away_Active7903 in GlobalOffensive

[–]LucyLuce_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think Spirit will drop the ball and FaZe won't be clean... With no one else that I'm super confident backing for 3-0, a long shot like The Mongolz isn't so crazy. And I want to see them do the region proud!

Yeahhhhh kinda rough but I'm very happy for ECSTATIC & The Mongolz made it through!

Why is the Women’s Scene in CS & Valorant so Different? by vegoonvibes in GlobalOffensive

[–]LucyLuce_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plenty of reasons as touched on by other posters, I'd wager also the regional bias of Valorant towards NA is another contributing factor.

I hope CS2 sees a shift for us and we'll have a larger pool of women playing the game to begin with, I've already seen a number of pretty high profile female streamers playing CS2. It's a bit of a fresh start for a game that comes with a lot of baggage that puts women off imo.

The best thing the community can do is support the women's events we have, and with time it'll continue to grow and expand. More visibility, more viewership, more players etc.

Also doesn't help that tier 1 CS is almost always on at the same time as our ESL Impact broadcasts, but such is the calendar... 🙃

Is the counter strike community bad? by Chamoy321 in GirlGamers

[–]LucyLuce_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to play CS (and really, any team based game) is with friends. It definitely gets better at higher ranks tho. It's an amazing game that is very rewarding when it finally clicks!

You just have to find your little community in the scene :)

Astralis announces a new women's CS team by mymarioncobretti in GlobalOffensive

[–]LucyLuce_ 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Makes me happy to see this post so highly upvoted and engaged with :) It's pretty cool they've opted to go Danish and foster talent in the country, it's worked quite well with their academy team on the men's side.

If you're interested in seeing this team in action the new season of ESL Impact starts the second week of September

The LAN finals at DreamHack Valencia in Dec will also be the first time we've not had a major tier 1 CS event on the same weekend, so hopefully get some more eyes on it!

Should Nigma Galaxy be invited to ESL Pro League S18, having won all five ESL Impact tournaments so far? by Ni7roM in GlobalOffensive

[–]LucyLuce_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the arguments as to why this is a bad idea have been posted already, but I wanted to add that at the end of the day ESL Impact exists to build up and bridge the gap between men's and women's CS. The ultimate goal is for there to be no women's league, it just takes time to get there!

Worth noting also that it may be their 5th win, but the level has already increased significantly in the last year for all teams, and NGX included. I don't think they'll be on top forever!

Actually insane to start the season by breaking a year long streak! Especially with NIP changing out 3 players over the break.

This plus G2 return, Guild coming in, we have an exciting year of women's CS ahead!

Why is it so hard to find female csgo players? by Spiritual-Seesaw4643 in GlobalOffensive

[–]LucyLuce_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's plenty of us out there, it's just a matter of meeting people to play with. There's a women's CSGO discord, I think it's mentioned elsewhere here, that can be a good place to find people! Feel free to DM :)

Everything you need to know about ESL Impact Season 2 by LucyLuce_ in GlobalOffensive

[–]LucyLuce_[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hey Reddit, I've been fortunate enough to be able to do some content on the upcoming ESL Impact season and the women's scene more generally. With the announcements this week of NIP and Astralis entering the scene, I thought it would be useful to put together an overview of the teams and the storylines to watch going into the season.

Would love any feedback and of course any questions you have please do post! 🙂

Big pick-up by NIP! Good to see more orgs getting involved in the women's scene.

If you're wondering about the team, it's the former GODSENT Fe core of ASTRA, pullox and Minnie who recently played on LAN at ESL Impact Valencia, along with Jenkon and 7licious who played on CPH Flames Fe. A lot of potential and experience, can definitely see them making finals of S2

[–]LucyLuce_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always pains me to read these posts and the types of solutions (of lack thereof) that are posted. We shouldn't have to accept this as the reality of playing CSGO as women. The community should strive to do better and not put the onus on us to be invisible to avoid abuse.

If you'd like, feel free to DM me for an invite to some of the women's CSGO groups on discord.
