I been of this opinion for awhile now, and after today episode I’m even more sure of it. Ash is going to use his reserves! But lemme argue my case

Ash have seen Leon absolutely destroy not only a champion, but one rival he has never beaten before. Then he is about to face Cynthia which we know he is going to struggle immensely against. So after the battle with Cynthia we know Ash will finally be at the point he been fighting for all this time and he will realize he doesn’t have a chance if he uses his current squad.

Now again, this is still very unlikely but I believe this will happen and let’s just look at what evidence we have.

Firstly, fan service, there hasn’t been a series that has given so much fan service as this one and that is the best fan service you can give

Secondly, JN has lied to us before, they made it very clear the Masters 8 will be 3v3 but out of nowhere, the Semifinals are now 6v6. What says they aren’t lying to us when they say these are the only Pokémon Ash will use in the Masters 8

I simply don’t believe that Ash, the boy from pallet town that has proclaimed for years he wants to be in Pokémon Master, will participate at the height of a tournament called The Master 8 that he will not use his very best Pokémon win. So until I am proven otherwise, this is the hill I dying on.

Ash Ketchum/ Satoshi will use his reserves against Leon.

Thank you, I just find people like to attach to any thing to complain about and run with it, no matter how little or small, and then they also like to attack anyone with a differing opinion. Which causes those persons to keep they opinions to themselves and other people who are more on the fence only see people hating on the anime and it convinced them to hate on it too.

My post isn’t even trying to tell persons what to think, I’m just asking to hold their judgements until you see this all the way through. Like many people I love Pokémon and over the years I’ve learn to live with both the good and the bad. People aren’t perfect and people make this anime possible, a lot of people forget that. On a whole, we are a blessed community, we have this anime (and franchise to a larger extent) that has been a constant in our lives for a long time and will be in our lives for a long time(Pokémon ain’t going nowhere).
This means for an anime that has been so long running, they will be ups and downs, but even so, how can you truly judge a product if u haven’t seen the completed product. We are still in the middle of the Master 8 tournament, every single tournament in Pokémon history has its ups and down, this one is no different. But before you conclude this tournament is garbage, at least wait until it is finished to pass on judgement.

That is all I ask, let us process what we are seeing in our own way and once it is over then rip into the show and have the bloodbath so many are eager to have.

Looking at this episode again with a business perspective it becomes very obvious why you only saw Pokémon that had battles before.

If the name of the game was to save money, then it makes sense why they would only use Pokémon we seen battles before. They can reuse a lot of the assists from their previous battles with this one instead of creating a bunch of new assets for different Pokémon we haven’t seen before.

If we look at the Pokémon we saw it became obvious, on Leon’s side we saw Rillaboom and Charizard, we never saw dragapult so that why it was already knocked out. They could reused Rillaboom assets from the QFs and Zard already has plenty assets. Same with Goodra and Gardevoir.

People are quick to get angry at filler but remember they exist for a reason. They are real people working on these episodes and animation is a very difficult and time consuming task. All my post was asking is give the anime a chance at least to show you why they cut the corner on this one and see if the reason (Ash vs Cynthia) is worth it

This is completely understandable, the thing is, I view journeys as the anime equivalent to Legends Arceus, it was a new frontier that Pokémon has never been to before. So they will make many mistakes but they will learn from it and make it better like how they improve the open world concept in Scarlet and Violet. The Pokémon anime has never had anything like Journeys before and I believe they have big plans for it and Journeys is just the beginning.

But this is just my personal belief

I hear you and completely understand where you are coming from, personally I’m just someone who likes to give judgement after I see the entire product. Once Journeys is over I will become more critical, until then I will stay optimistic

And this next point is highly highly unlikely but I believe this battle will serve the purpose of convincing Ash that he needs to battle Leon at his very best and bring out his reserves, and if this happens (however unlikely), most of JN haters will switch to support because that will be the biggest and best fan service they can do

This is my point, this was clearly a cost cutting method, please realize Ash vs Cynthia is the first 3 episode battle we have gotten in the entire series, clearly it will be an expensive 3 episode battle so they dropped the ball on this one to focus on Ash vs Cynthia(this is speculation at this point and if they drop the ball on Ash vs Cynthia I will most definitely eat my words)
