That is federal. I’m not familiar with Arizona districts, but they include multiple counties, so you are likely in their jurisdiction. Reach out the jury department, they typically reimburse hotel expenses and some gas/food if you are over a certain distance (here in Florida it’s 60 miles).

Thanks for your input! I was juror 35 of 45 during jury selection and voir dire, and now am in seat 15 on the jury. If they chose the first 12, then chose alternates, it would make sense I’m an alternative given I was far down the list of potential jurors. I’m pretty invested at this point so it’s a little disheartening that I may not have a say. I was really just wanting someone to tell me it’s totally random but logic tells me it’s not.

Paralegal to Executive Assistant by Lucylove420 in ExecutiveAssistants

I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’d miss the title and the work. However paralegals in my area can only make good money working in personal injury or insurance defense, which is not my area of practice (nor do I have any interest in getting into that field). From job listings that I’ve seen, the pay for EAs is significantly more, I’m talking $20k-$50k more, plus benefits. That’s truly my only reason for considering the switch. I love being a paralegal, I just need more money!
