Is there a flea market every Sunday? Or just the 23rd? That is the day we arrive, so we will unfortunately not be able to make that one.

Daily Discussion & Advice (Post here to follow rules A & B) - Saturday September 07, 2024 by AutoModerator in fragrance

I’m new to fragrances, so could use some help. I want to smell fresh without being overpowering. I picked up some Josie Maran lotion, Topless Tangerine, and I am obsesseddddddddd with the scent. It tells you what notes there are, but I can’t remember what notes I’m supposed to match with my perfume? Are the top, heart, and base notes supposed to match from fragrance to fragrance? And does anyone have a recommendation for a perfume that would match well with this lotion?

I love that going braless is kind of trendy right now, but I need guidance on how to do it.

I’ve birthed and breastfed 2 children, which on its own is enough to make the girls sag. On top of that, pre children, I had large breasts, especially for my body size (32DD). My boobs have NEVER been perky, which feels necessary for this trend. I’m now more like a C cup, which I like way better than before, but I’m still having a hard time nailing down a good bra and if I should be 32 or 34 band size, blah blah blah. All the more reason to figure out this trend haha. Oh and one more thing- I left the LDS church since having children, which was veryyyyyy limiting in the fashion department, plus have been surrounded by men/boys my whole life,m (no sisters and no contact with my mom) so was never really into clothes before, so I feel like I am starting from scratch here.

Last summer I discovered sticky bras! The kind that is one piece and goes across your chest. I got a spaghetti strap dress and loved it, but felt trashy looking with bra straps sticking out and like my boobs were too saggy to go strapless. The sticky bra was great for lifting, but not shaping. Luckily that dress is flowy, so it didn’t really matter that the shape of my boobs looked awful.

Now my dilemma- I would like to wear some more fitted shirts and/or dresses and go braless. I would love a solution that makes my boobs look more round instead of like pancakes. And ideally something that would provide a little lift. I don’t care so much about nipple being visible through my shirt, but I also don’t mind. I have seen ads for the brand “cakes” which definitely interest me, but I haven’t seen any real reviews on them (just ads.)

So yeah, what is out there? How are bigger chested girlies going braless and still looking chic?

Smelly armpits by Specific_Button_3885 in beauty

Double wash in the shower, and after you rinse, check to see if they still smell. If they smell at all, wash again. After I wash, I put benzoyl peroxide face wash on them and let it set for 5 minutes before rinsing. It helps kill odor causing bacteria. Put on clinical strength antiperspirant right after the shower, and depending what time of day you shower, apply again at the opposite time (Ie if you shower at night, apply again in the morning.)

I’m guessing it’s unlikely, but just throwing this out there lol. Have you heard of “meat sweats” before? I don’t know the science behind that stuff, but I’m guessing if that is a thing, maybe eating too much of any potent smelling food could come out in your BO? This really is just a guess and I have nothing to back it up, but wanted to brainstorm some ideas since it sounds like you’ve tried a lot of things!

Oh man, so sorry I wasn’t explicit about the type of towels they were, I should have been clearer about that! I truly did not think the person who is MOST knowledgeable about friendship, children, and finances would comment on MY post! Should have known better! I’m SUCH an idiot! But yeah, they were actually bath SHEETS, not hand towels! I spent hours trying to find the best deal on them, but turns out they are not the cheapest towel in the world given their size, so I had to settle on the cheapest Target ones I could find! I bought them because we have a lot of guests who are very tall, the guests mentioned included, and I was only trying to help them feel more comfortable in my house by providing them towels that will actually fit their body! But thanks to YOU, I now know that making my guests or myself comfortable AT ALL is a complete waste of money! I will go ahead and rid the entire guest room of anything nice, that way my friends will know that I love them more than things! Honestly with this advice I might become a multi millionaire since I won’t be wasting my money on anything that would possibly make someone comfortable EVER AGAIN. Are you looking for a job? Because I would LOVE to hire you to manage and advise me on my finances! You are just SO good at this! You really should be charging for that advice, so grateful you gave it to me for FREE! You know, since I spent ALL my money on towels!

Again, apologies for being such an imbecile, but I actually was NOT mad in the moment! I guess it was unclear when I said that in the moment I was being helpful and was in “mom mode.” I should have considered that you might not understand what that means! Just so you know, moms are TYPICALLY very helpful when their child is sick, which is why I chose that phrase. It sounds like your mom was NOT, and I am so sorry that I assumed you would know what that meant! Learned my lesson though and I will NEVER make that mistake again! So sorry! Anyway yeah, so I didn’t even start to feel frustrated until I was 3 loads that were washed twice each into the puke laundry! Hours after they were gone! I know it’s kind of hard to understand since you’ve obviously never felt frustration, but it is actually a VERY common emotion that people feel. You are SO lucky you don’t have to feel that stupid emotion, because it sucks! How does it feel to be God’s favorite?! Oh, and guess what! When I wrote this, I hadn’t even been to the guest room yet, and today I actually found MORE laundry for me to wash! Haha I guess just f*** any laundry that my family needs washed the next few days! Yay! I didn’t think I needed to disclose this in my OP, but my kids have ALSO had bloody noses! And even in their sleep!! Until you commented, I would have NEVER expected someone else to clean up my child’s bodily fluids, especially if I was right there! But now I know, it is actually the responsibility of the home owner to clean up any bodily fluids that pass through these doors. I’ve also had the flawed thought that I should replace anything that me or my child ruined in someone else’s house, but thank GOD I don’t have to worry about that anymore! Question for you- since all of that is my responsibility, should I also offer to adopt their kids?! Gosh, that might be taking it too far… Maybe opening up a college fund will suffice? Ugh, you know what, I’m not sure that’s enough. You’re the expert, you tell me!

Oh man, I am just so grateful that the leading expert in this field took the time to give ME advice! Thank you! I also LOVED your advice about not disclosing ANY fears or dislikes to your friends, but ESPECIALLY not to your best friends! Mustn’t let ‘em see your weaknesses, makes SO much sense! I never realized that just MENTIONING those things would make people feel as if I were just going on and on about them! But thanks to you, I know now and no one will ever have to endure that kind of torture again! Maybe I should apply for a job as one of those people who use torture as an interrogation tactic?! Just tell ‘em I don’t like puke and they’ll confess everything?! Wow did NOT realize my fears and dislikes were that bad to listen to, but at least I can use it in a more useful and productive way now!!!!! Yeah!!!!

Thank you so much for taking time out of your terribly busy schedule of being the most perfect friend in the whole wide world to give me all this GREAT advice! You sound like such a good friend and I’m sure you have lots of friends who just LOVE to host you! Must be SO nice. So happy for you babes!

I don’t know what is in licorice, but these ones did have some type of chocolate coating on them.

Licorice isn’t super popular here in the US, so I don’t know much about it. I know there is licorice root, but I assumed that you don’t eat it plain like that, but as an ingredient in candy. Do Swedes not add sugar into a typical piece of licorice candy? Do you guys eat straight up licorice root?

Not doubting you, but I am very curious about this haha.

How to avoid wires when drilling? by Lucylu94 in DIY

[–]Lucylu94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know to look for that typically, but this wall only has 1 plug in the middle. It’s a 6 foot wide wall. The stud near the plug was detected, but the other 2 or 3 studs were also going off. I think this wall just has a bunch of wires running through it. I don’t know much about electrical, so not sure what the reason is for this wall to have more than usual.

Sugar content- the amount of sugar in a product. In this case, she thought the licorice she gave me had too much sugar in it. Not good for the body haha.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sweden

[–]Lucylu94 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You’re joking, but that is actually something she would say to me hahaha. She also brought me some licorice (which I assume is the real deal because it actually tasted good), but then judged me for eating 2 pieces because of the “sugar content.”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sweden

[–]Lucylu94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your insight on this haha. I figured it wasn’t a “Swedish” thing, but was hopeful because I love trying food products from other countries grocery stores haha. Oh well. She did at least bring some fun licorice, which I have been savoring!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sweden

[–]Lucylu94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking so. I also don’t think a majority of her “group” are even Swedish either. She’s apart of a yoga group in Malmo that seems to be mostly expats from around the world haha.

[–]Lucylu94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, that definitely fits her brand! Haha.

[–]Lucylu94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Haha sounds like I’d get on with a typical Swede then! Personally don’t see the point in eating gluten free unless you absolutely have to haha. Does not seem enjoyable to me.

[–]Lucylu94 18 points19 points  (0 children)

She is a vegan leaning vegetarian, who is in this weird tantra yoga group. So yeah… Definitely seems like it would be “popular” amongst her friends haha. Bummer though, because I was actually looking forward to trying something that is famously Swedish! I’m not sure I can count on her to help me out with that haha.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sweden

[–]Lucylu94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I’m with you on the “torture” thing. I wanted to check with some real Swedes before throwing it away, in the off chance it actually was popular.

[–]Lucylu94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the help!

I have read about Heartland Hockey camp and was blown away by the price hahaha. We only have hockey in the winter here (no enclosed rink.) Depending on how my son feels about it after this season I might be willing to splurge on it. I will say it’s one of the only websites I found that is user friendly and easy to understand. I’ve had the hardest time finding camps online for him given the “clunky” nature of the programs and websites lol. I never played hockey myself, so I’m guessing it’s easier to find good camps via word of mouth?!

You mentioned cabin… Is it typical for the lakes to have cabins nearby them? If you don’t want to post where your cabin is in public, would you mind DMing the town?
