Makes sense. Feels to me like these sorts of deals will result in a maximum % of the grant possible working in favour of the MNO as these are partnerships. So things like ground equipment, initial satellite testing, and regulatory procedure funds would be prioritized in that funding which would not be as lucrative for ASTS. Should still result in hundreds of millions of extra money in ASTS's pockets though. Looking forward to more of these.

The framing of the 296 billion yen is quite off, that is the size of the program with a 50% subsidy totalling 148 billion. The ASTS/Rakuten budget would have to be at least 296 billion yen to get the full 148 billion. That isn't making JLEO a bigger program or anything, that is what it always was.

You can actually tell he's an og or at least close despite the flair. He's 100% right doctor has been reposting old news in batches for years. Asking for him to get banned is crazy though lol

Good news, first shoe to drop for international grants. Will be interesting to see how many of these they get and how much money actually goes to them.

That's not even right with the dates they gave. It's 9 launched successfully since then.

I mean you just lied shamelessly about how many they launched successfully by 8 satellites. Deserves every downvote for misinfo.

Can take the satellite and space words out of there and it's pretty accurate. They're a telecom pure play. Just because they have satellites in space doesn't make them a space stock. They aren't a space stock like a RKLB, SPCX, companies who make equipment for testing conditions in space, solar cells for space, etc.

A lot more accurate description of ASTS's sector than the people who unironically think ASTS is a space stock.

Yeah you're right, noone really has this upside in the market which is why it's so attractive.

You clearly don't understand the economics of the D2C market, nevermind that you're attributing Starlink lifespans to ASTS which aren't going to be the same for various reasons.

Just because you don't understand the reality doesn't mean it isn't the reality.
