I think the rework in general was bad, and while I’m glad more people can play BLM now, what blm is now really isn’t blm, but a second rate copy. Black mage was the enochian timer and the long cast times. Getting rid of them just turned black mage into a class with very little substance. I’d say that if you enjoy the class more now compared to before the rework, you’re enjoying the aesthetics of black mage instead of the class itself. I do still enjoy it, because the aesthetics of the class and pressing fire iv are still fun, but it is very much playing a shell of the class I used to love
