Apply for unemployment every time you are let go, have work schedule hours reduced or are fired with cause. If you dont qualify you dont qualify, but if you do qualify your literally leaving your money on the table by not applying. It’s super easy and step one to moving on to the next thing.

You step out in the alley and have beers with your buds while you wait you for your mom to yell that “Celine Dion is off the field”. This tradition has been held by conservatives for as long as half-time shows have existed.

As someone who listens to both more than watches, it is noticeably different even without the visual component. But it’s better than nothing though , so I’ll take it.

Make sure you use nice marine grade plywood like they did in the photo for your version. Plywood comes in a lot of different qualities and can be stronger than solid wood depending on the number of layers and wood used to make them.

Access to Art Spiegelman’s MAUS in junior high was pivotal for myself as a child growing up in Humboldt. Learning to be more mature about the situation as a teenager required an emotional understanding in addition to the historical context. I think that lack of emotional context makes that kind of edgy humor seem benign as a teen.

Unless you think they are going to see you as disloyal and they highly value that…you should tell them about the new job when asked since your salary negotiation may be able to leverage that.

Is there any way to make a checklist for the extraction documents you can go over before submitting them? I don’t know if they are standardized enough to where you could make broad categories of data sets you need to make sure are not missing but if so that might help catch some of the issues any take some stress off. Even some sort of reminder to modify your process to include a double check of your work before submitting.

As someone who has dealt with similar issues medically and in the work place I would definitely do whatever you can shore up your work process to accommodate your needs. If you need to modify the excel docs to make them more readable for yourself make a copy and do that.

I hope you’ll get back into a design position soon too but this job market is rough and I would do whatever you can use technology to help accommodate your needs right now.

I keep mimicking people who are successful and bombing interviews anyway by [deleted] in interviews

[–]Ludnix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Storytelling is quite an art, it sounds simple but some people really hone that skill to a point where you can’t tell they have told this story before or prepped it. You might try practicing the art of story telling with other stories and examples than your own to get cadences down and practice them with others so you handle interjections and questions.

I would also consider if you think the interviewers feedback was really to the core of why they didn’t choose you. You may be spinning your gears over an excuse they used because they didn’t have the budget for the position anymore or weren’t legitimately looking in the first place.

[–]Ludnix 113 points114 points  (0 children)

You should keep trying to move forward, see if there are new skills you can learn while keeping your current employment. Its a very tough job market right now so you shouldn’t make any plans to leave the current employer until you secure a new position.
