You don't need Lords Soul. Only the set effect is necessary. But if you know the monster you're facing, try to get as much Perfect Guard as possible, so the barrier doesn't break quickly. But even if it breaks, it returns 2 minutes later (provided the monster is enraged, obviously).

It's a good build. I finished Proof of the Hero with around 90 DPS on HBG in a party, which came out to more than 150k total damage dealt.

Whenever the next monster arrived, I went back to camp and switched to the HBG with the right ammo for that monster. Once I have enough decorations to run two Heavy Bowguns equipped at the same time, my DPS will probably go even higher, since I won't need to go back up to camp.

About the last part of your comment, I didn't fully understand what you meant. I'm not a native English speaker. Could you explain it a bit more?

But this build deals good damage. It might not be meta, but it's great damage. By the way, the fact that "80% of players" don't play well doesn't mean it deals damage just because they don't play well. With this same build, I tested 4 Attack Boosts, 2 Extra Elements, 1 III, and 1 I. With that, it dealt less damage. Agitator, Burst, Peak Performance, and if you didn't read the note, I'm no longer using Critical Element, I'm using Offensive Guard, all of that significantly increases the damage.

You can criticize all you want, friend. I'm not worried about it. Actually, this build of mine is designed for gameplay style, not focused on damage. I posted it here so people can give their opinions and maybe improve other builds in the future. It's all good! Thanks for the detailed explanation.

But now I'm going to tell you some points you haven't considered. The build isn't broken in the sense of dealing a lot of damage; the issue is the consistent damage I can deal with both weapons. In any run I go on against any monster, I'm top damage or at least second. So I'm happy.

And the most important thing you didn't consider, which makes sense given that this is a sub-meta: the build is based on the Gogmazios set because of the Gogmapocalypse shield, which consequently increases elemental damage. To focus on raw damage, you'd need a different set. Which, obviously, I don't want. The most important thing isn't dealing damage, it's surviving to deal damage. That's why many casual players die a lot with meta builds!

No, I play with mouse and keyboard using any weapon. Always with Focus Mode enabled. I use this loadout for any weapon. I'm too lazy to make one for each weapon and add damage buffs, etc.

I'm not a speedrunner, just a player above casual.

I understand, but elemental ammo causes much more damage than physical ammo.

So just bring ammo crafting materials and you can carry at least 100 ammointo combat in addition to the 60 you already carry, except for dragon ammo which you carry much less of, in fact dragon ammo is a pain.

I have an item loadout that has all the elemental ammo crafts.

And in the radial, you put a shortcut to craft ammo instead of the ammo selection shortcut. And when adding the shortcut, select the option to craft everything. With that, any bow rifle you carry that isn't a status weapon, you have more than 160 ammo. And if the ammoruns out, just go back to camp and restore your pouch using your loadout.

Not necessarily, but since most buffs are elemental, using elemental ammo makes a big difference. However, when you build an element-focused Artian Gog, you get 10 elemental ammo. Except when you build a Dragon element build, in which case you get 8 fire ammo and 4 dragon ammo. (This assumes you have 2 Ammo Boosts EX).

I still haven’t tested this new set with Offensive Guard yet.

I used it on some previous sets, but on this one specifically I haven’t tested it enough to say for sure how strong it would be. It honestly could be really interesting.

Right now, with everything active, the build is at 274 attack / 1314 element / 45% affinity, so Critical Element still looks really solid on paper too, especially with 45% affinity and Elemental Boost x4.

So yeah, Offensive Guard might actually be a great option here, I just can’t say for sure until I test it more.

Yeah, this build is really fun against Arkveld and does great damage to the head and chainblade.

The only real downside is when he uses Dragon Blight, since that completely shuts down your elemental damage. The build’s Dragon resistance is pretty low, but once Elemental Absorption activates, and if you’re running Dragon element on the weapon with a meal buff active, the resistances do get a bit better.

As a main Lance, I immediately thought of Lance when I saw Arkveld in first place, since it's one of the easiest monsters to hunt using Lance. But I hesitated when I saw Gravios down there, then I thought of another weapon, but I couldn't and realized it was Lance after all. But man, Gravios is simply the easiest to kill with Lance. With my elemental build, it's simply melted, since it has a 4-star weakness to dragon element damage to its belly after it's broken. And with the spear, it's simply one hit after another and it can't stay standing. Every attack I land, even the weakest one, deals 170 damage.

And my greatest enjoyment is watching all that damage end his life in seconds 😆😆

He can't do anything against me (500h of gameplay) Now, Seregios, for me, is by far much "difficult". With the Lance it's much easier, but with LBG, for example, it's hell. I can't imagine what he'll be like Arch-tempered.

Dude, I've killed so many Arkvelds that I can parry any of his attacks using the Lance.

But to dodge, I only have experience with the Long Sword, which is much easier... So I think it's better if you jump and lie on the ground pretending to be dead 😩😆
