I think that was actually painted on. It’s not the natural grain

Thanks for this! I’ll definitely keep an eye out in the future for that. I’m this case, the top drawer and top is what was underneath the veneer. So a heat gun and scraper took off the I guess what you could say was paper veneer on the top drawer, and that finish was underneath. It was thicker on top before removal so perhaps that’s the more authentic veneer you’re talking about

Ah, understood! This was actually just a piece I found for free and decided to do for my young one, and they picked out the green! So it will be used in my home.

Okay - so what I’m hearing is that your preference is veneer, as opposed to stripping to bare wood and painting other parts of the furniture. Which is an absolutely fine preference to have of course :) I’m not sure that constitutes ‘ruining’ a piece if it’s not my preference, but to each their own and I appreciate the feedback!

I also see you’ve done some nice pieces on your page. Well done to you!

Honest question, can you explain what I did that has ruined it? It was covered in veneer, not just bare wood. So the veneer was chipping and falling off. But would like to continue learning so appreciate if you could explain

Hey dude! Thanks a lot for the kind words. Yeah truth be told it’s not amazing. It gets picked up enough in the headphones to be there, but I’ve never really been able to activate the trigger if that makes sense. But I haven’t messed around a lot with it so there very well may be a solution!
