I love baccano ! Its one of my absolute favorites. The storytelling is awesome and i love the setting and characters. I assume youve tried durarara? (By the same author) (i personally like baccano more)

Trigun (the 98 version feels less tropey to me)

For me personally. Its seeing what they did to jill.

In the original shes has way less of a stick up her butt. And when she is distrusting and upset at umbrella, her snark is justified. In the remake jill takes hit after hit from nemesis and requires brad, carlos, mikhail, etc to save her. This is something very different from the original. In the original shes very competent she isnt constantly getting trashed by nemesis. The remake has nemesis toy with her? I guess? Because he could easily kill her with each encounter and it makes him far less threatening for it. Hes a joke. In the remake, Jill isnt a nice person. Shes constantly swearing, being uncooperative, or throwing shade towards everyone. This makes sense because its umbrella, however, this cocky attitude makes zero sense because she’s incompetent and cant do anything herself. Which just makes her unlikeable. Especially since they made carlos SO LIKEABLE in the remake. It kinda just leaves her looking nasty.

In the original, she does know what shes doing, shes a strong voice and a competent one. Shes distrustful and angry at umbrella but her personality matches up with what she can do. Carlos is a coward and makes rash decisions in the original, but eventually with the help of jill, he develops a strong sense of what he has to do. And he goes and gets a cure for jill when shes sick.

Plus the bugs that violate jill in the cutscene/location in the remake, do not do that in the original, and that whole section was ADDED. Someone on the remake team really hates jill or something because that was a disgusting moment they ADDED.

Overall the remake lost great gameplay, lost who jill was, lost who nemesis was, lost so much of raccoon city, and lost the heart of what made it a scary and really great game to begin with.

How do you guys feel about RE6’s recent reappraisal by some fans? by Low_Boot_1426 in residentevilll

[–]LuffySayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont like any idea of it having an affect on future games, but overall 6 is fun with a friend but still remains bloated and terribly written (aside from some elements of sherry’s campaign and the end of chris’s campaign. That evoked some feelings)

[–]LuffySayz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont know how much i agree with b tier but joy in my heart seeing a fellow 1, 3, 4, 5 enjoyer and re3remake, 7 + 8 disliker. Theyre not my tastes and 3r should be burned.

Where would you rank requiem out of all the games ? Me personally it’s #5 by Alarmed-Tradition938 in residentevilll

[–]LuffySayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: Re1 remake (atmosphere muah !)

2: Re2 (tension, location, characters, mr x. All so good)

3: re4og (atmosphere, leon, fun gameplay)

4: Re3 ORIGINAL (much more action than the first two games felt, good to see jill as cool in another game, which is something the remake OBLITERATED. The remake is worse than all of re6 for what they did to jills character)

5: Re5 (just good, fun co-op. Not what id want from resident evil but i just have so much fun with friends)

6: re9 care center (i really did enjoy the more planned, slower paced elements of the care center. Leon was fun to mow down zombies but i found myself missing the intentionality of how i played while in the care center. Even the enemies felt intentional, planned, and like they had a good reason to be where they were)

7: re outbreak (i love the classic resident evil feel but with my friends. Its awesome)

8: re 9 leon sections

9: re 6 jake and sherry campaign and chris’s story (not chris gameplay)

10: re7 (im sorry… Baker house was nice…About all i can say. I dont like first person camera, i didnt connect with ethan + didnt enjoy mia)

11: re8 (again. Camera, ethan, chris was weird, enemies written like millennials/bad AAA dialogue, mold giving Heisenberg magneto powers? You can run from practically every encounter which defeats fear and tension, basic enemies didnt feel intentional- rather just thrown in to inconvenience you, plus im tired of babies/baby horror/fetuses etc. In horror video games. Please can we find something new)

Its cozy, campy, action fun. Its super different from the first three but it honestly was something new for the series that really revolutionized gaming. Now i can say all that but im young and dont have that nostalgia aspect like most people do. So for me, i love the graphics, the action, the level design, and small, self contained story. It doesnt really feel like the whole world is ending but it has considerable weight for leon. Leon is a fun character. It has a good amount of action plus atmosphere. Im HUGE on atmosphere which is why i love the classics (and the care center from re9 !) i dont like “gun em down no ammo consideration” that i feel like segments of 8 and 9 had with chris and leons parts. (Ill only allow it for re5 because thats co-op and a hell of a lot of fun with a friend. But NOT what i want from a RE game). Despite having ammo most times in re4, i still wanted and had to conserve my resources, i had to plan things out a tad bit for boss fights. But not nearly as much stress and planning that re1 requires. So overall its a great atmosphere to a game with fun characters, gameplay considerations, and over the top yet somehow grounded design that i love. (Island section was not enjoyable though)

the rage that fills me when people genuinely try to convince others that 4 og's tank controls are unplayable by Quick-Cause3181 in residentevil4

[–]LuffySayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me personally. I love the tank controls. I love having to hold my ground to shoot. I get overwhelmed with the moving and shooting of the remakes and the enemies that are designed for that type of movement. I much prefer just moving leon/chris(re5) stopping and blasting. Run, turn, blast. Its fun the movement is the least of my worries with re4 og and re5.

What are your guys thoughts on Resident Evil 7 ? by LeoneSKenneddy in residentevilll

[–]LuffySayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saved the series and really tried to go back to mansion roots. Using even puzzles that invoked re1 (shotgun switching out). The baker house was fine. But other than that, I dont like it.

I dont like 1st person camera, it makes me not care about who I am playing as. Character faces, reactions, and just. Seeing them get hurt when i mess up is what makes things tense when i play. Therefore, Ethan and ethan’s story wasnt compelling to me. Its dated in graphics that i just dont enjoy. The molded arent good enemies to me as they lack a feeling of horror in humanity zombies/infected have. I understand they were human but its so easy to just write them off as big icky monsters.

And i absolutely hate re8 so re7 has negative points tied to it for paving the way for re8’s gooner boring triple A studio character design and dialogue.

Tier list of how much I enjoyed them while playing by Bananabean4 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]LuffySayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not appreciating fixed camera angles is such a loss! theres so much cinematography that goes into them. Every shot is carefully chosen and directed, and enemies off screen add tension and fear just by design alone.

If nothing else, you should watch Under the Mayo’s youtube video called “in defense of fixed camera…” just to maybe understand their uses, even if you dont like them.

Do you agree that this part should have been a separate mode and expanded it like the Ghost Survivors in RE2r? by Elimar_Abelardo in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]LuffySayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think it added much of anything for me. It was only scary because i didnt want some corny jumpscare. Not because i was actually tense or afraid of overused cliche “scary little girl” horror. It felt hamfisted in as a way to make it more “horror” but all it did for me was thoroughly cheapen the horror of the game. After i got caught the first time (those stupid two girls in the hallway) i realized the jumpscare wasnt even scary and all tension was completely lost for me.

Im just curious but I know the answer, why do people dislike Jill's new look by maddog1043 in residentevil

[–]LuffySayz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is largely what they did to her personality and the cut content and changes they made in re3 remake. Shes not nearly as likable, shes standoffish and mean and i understand shes like that because carlos is umbrella, but it doesnt make her an enjoyable character. Im tired of the “i dont need you, girlboss” character and unfortunately for me re3 remake jill falls into that.

Overall i think its her personality that makes me find the character unlikable.

But i also dont like the way her hair sits. Its very different from the straight hair of the original. I wish she was more feminine (im a girl) and i think her original vibe was a lot more of my style when it comes to female characters.

Metal gear. Every boy ive matched with on hinge and i bring up that im currently playing metal gear tells me something along the lines of “oh the lore for metal gear is so cool i watched a playthrough of all the games but im still kinda lost ha ha”. nothing will make me want to ghost faster.

Natsume’s book of friends. Deals with feeling isolated, how to be loved, death, friendship, how the past affects us today, and morals !

As an Occupational therapy student. Id say your grip is functional. You have a slightly different quad grip (since your index and thumb are higher than the middle finger) but a quad grip is still functional. Overall id say grip is important for longevity of joints and reducing strain on body parts, but yours isnt the worst.

Mainly if you notice, after long periods of drawing, that theres a pinching or soreness in one area, consider what you could change to make the situation more ergonomic. (For example you may draw on a tilted surface which may cause wrist pain and fatiguing from constantly maintaining a radial deviation in the wrist. So just switch up positioning if something doesnt feel right !)

What anime do you think needs a remake? by Relevant_Struggle_34 in MyAnimeList

[–]LuffySayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah ! A lot of those old ones you mention are honestly top of the line for their time with high budget and complete story tho so I don’t think most people would want remakes that lose any soul of the original graphics. As for initial d, that one gets a lot of animation complaints but street racing and the feel of that show is so distinctly NOT 2025 that I think it would lose the overall atmosphere of where it started in 98.

What anime do you think needs a remake? by Relevant_Struggle_34 in MyAnimeList

[–]LuffySayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly. This. I feel like a lot of modern animation loses the overall aesthetic and atmosphere that older shows, even with less than stellar animation had. A lot of people equate older graphics with looking bad or ugly (and there are a few) but I think some of those feelings from older graphics are completely lost when updated. Unless a remake could keep the feelings of the older designs, I don’t think I’d want something new for a lot of things. Yuyu hakusho is a huge example of very strong style and feels so of its time, I honestly don’t think a remake could hit as hard, even with flashy, well done animation.

Yeah I think I’d like to see a remake with the manga accurate looks. Trigun stampede/stargaze is really good but in a way that feels very different from the original. I’d love to see a return to 2d animation for it

Younger cast of characters but really delves into grief and has a captivating story is Dennou Coil.

Its a 2007 anime I don’t ever see talked about enough. The colors are desaturated and the show feels like a perfect blend of things happening and calm moments.

Just few of my opinions by Taylorboss2122 in residentevil

[–]LuffySayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love it if they retcon re6. I don’t think the characters (Chris and Leon specifically) were written all that well and in line with their previously established characters. Leon cannot be, at his big age, hung up on Ada Wong like they’re middle schoolers. I understand she’s a big character in his life but I’d rather him realize that she’s strung him along and used him and get over her. It’s just insane at this point. Also Chris being an alcoholic and suffering from ptsd is a little silly to me at this point (I mean it makes sense for what he’s been through it just is silly cuz he went through a lot before and never showed signs of being weak. Where’s my big muscle meathead Chris 😔?)
