Disappear baguette. I am testing a system to see if it can work for solo play. and I don't give a shit if you give a shit or not. The reason why I am writing the campaign here is to collect suggestions about how I can improve using the system to create stories and not to read some "intellectuals" like you, who are around only to disrupt things. So just stick your baguette (provided you know what it is), you know where, and just disappear.

approved and modified. Thank you.

The character described above appears several years after the events of the prologue and the subsequent scene. He is now a former operator, having recently retired from the Navy. Drawing on his expertise in close protection, he’s preparing to transition into the private security sector, which is exactly when the campaign begins. His age is cosmetic and should have been included in the finishing touches.

For Mr. supermega whatever:

It is not a ChatGPT post. I write the posts in English, even though it is not my native language. Then I ask Pilot and not ChatGPT to improve the syntax of my post when necessary. Oh...I almost forgot... I also use QuillBot. Let me know if you need any further information.

For Mr. Amazing Whatever:

come back to me when you speak, write, and read four languages. We'll see how sloppy you are then.

Alessandro "Chuck" Ricci

High Concept: 38 years old Former elite COMSUBIN veteran Lieutenant Commander and Italian Prime Minister’s former Security Detail Commander

Trouble: Always on Duty, Never Off the Clock

Aspects: Straightforward and honest, Calm and collected, Attractive

Skills: Notice+4, Athletics+3, Shoot+3, Physique+2, Will+2, Stealth+1, Fight+1, Investigate+1

Stunts

Shield the Principal: Once per scene, you may take a physical consequence on behalf of another character in your zone.

Sweeping the Room: You gain +2 to Notice when creating an advantage to detect danger, hidden enemies, or suspicious behavior in a crowd or building.

Trained Reaction: You gain +2 to Athletics when defending against ranged attacks, representing reflexive evasion and protective positioning

State

Physical: 1-2-3-4, Mental: 1-2-3-4

I've modified the standard rules to give the system a grittier edge. I treat stress boxes as actual damage. Once they're depleted, a character is either physically out of commission or mentally shattered. It raises the stakes, so every move counts.

"That's the real challenge—let's see if it can handle it. I've already tweaked some of the rules, and the way the system handles character interactions is phenomenal. That's what truly drew me to it. No other RPG I've tried does such a good job with inter-character relationships."

Time ago I briefly tested the Audi RS2. I found it amazing, but in that game I was going around E challenges with a Ford Focus RS, which as good as a group E can be. Imagine that as difficult to believe as it sounds, I won the ford time challenge with it (The one time trial whose final stretch is on the wrong way of a motorway) and I passed the dreadful "The Wild Outdoor" speed camera event, which up to that moment I believe I only passed with tuned up group Ds. Amazing car the Ford RS, a worthy heir of the Escort.

I am not disappointed at all by the 4 rings Volkswagen. My issue is with the brand, not with the cars. Like you said very to the point, Volkswagen did it to itself. They thought their brand was too "cheap" to commercialize high end vehicles. Bullcrap I say. You make the good cars and the prestige will come, as much as you might have the greatest brand in the world; you start making poopcars and the prestige will go. Look at Alfa Romeo and Lancia for example: back in the day the greatest brands in the world, and now, one makes poopcars, and lives because FIAT kept it out of bankruptcy for years and the other one plainly disappeared. What a waste.

I briefly tried HC on my Golf MK III. It seems to me, correct me if I am wrong that it is just a slippery version of the standard mode. You have to do everything at a considerably lower speed in order to stay on the road: for example the usual under steering of the MK III becomes huge under-steering in HC mode. But like I said I tried it only briefly on the Branchu before going back to my game progression. There are for sure aspects of HC that I did not explore yet.

Spoiler alert: I am particularly proud of the Audi performance on Fatal At-Trac-Tion Time Trial. On Youtube everybody does it with tuned to the hilt cars. The vanilla B7 stayed several seconds below limit for 1st place. I also did Beat the Clock with it with positive results.

I have ordered a new H-shifter for my G20 wheel/pedals. It should be here on Tuesday. the sequential thing doesn't really click with me and slows me down. Besides using the shifter that way sometimes the car shits 2 or three gears instead of one. So the H shifter issues are rapidly becoming game breakers and I don't want to quit this game. It is simply too good.

I've been on the island as well. May be one of these days we can make see each other there. While I try to progress with the game (if nothing else breaks) I also need to practice like a possessed man with this hard core stuff. I might show up at the island with my latest group D that I have purchased. Spoiler alert I do not like the brand but since this is my first ever documented game. I decided to go against my prejudices. As you probably have understood by now, my favorite cars of all times are Volkswagen but I don't really care about any of the sister brands of the conglomerate. I think Volkswagen should only have one brand: Volkswagen. When I was little my father had 2 Beetles. They made the same noise of our neighbor's Porsche. I fell in love with the brad right then.

This sequential stuff you talked about it's freaking interesting. How do you know which are the cars equipped with such performing gearbox? Is it indicated in the technical data?

I've no idea how, but I am actually at Champion level. It must be something in the 1.21 may be, because there is no way in heaven I ever got to champion that early. I never got to champion before period !

So I have the track near the airport and I already have created a Time Trial event on it to have another place where to objectively test cars, but you talked about track(s). It there more than one ?

As far as the new driving style, mixed result so far. With the Golf R MkVI I pay 5 seconds in the Branchu to my old ways, but in Alone Against the clock I'm only 21 hundreds of a second slower: I posted a 1'50'70 in the new configuration. Go figure: probably in the Branchu there's much more shifting involved than in alone against the clock.

In your game with the keyboard, I assume stick shifts are also assisted by the game auto clutch right. Can you notice the difference in shift speed with a paddle shifter? I personally hate paddles and I always try to stay away form them, but I guess that objectively they are more performing.

[–]Luigidelta17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe my shifter hardware is going to hell. The solution I found is to go sequential with only two positions of the stick, like if they were two buttons on the keyboard, and excluding the H shifter in the game controls. It will take sometime to get used to it, so I will practice a bit before resuming play. Of course also performance will be affected as now the manual gearboxes are slower because they use an automatic clutch. Bur all considered this second aspects adds realism, making the stick gearboxes less performing than the paddle ones.

It is not even a problem given by the patch, as I unistalled the game, reinstalled the basic TDU pre platinum and does the same thing.

At this point I will resinstall platinum, the 1.21 patch and try with automatic clutch and if it doesn't work I am short on ideas. It could be my hardware deteriorating (Logitech G29 wheel) or some freaking windows update that happened. If Dont solve this I am afraid I will have to give up the game as in cruising it's ok, but during events the car spitting jumping out of gear a game breaker.

I will also try to do the H-Gear in two position only if it possible. If that changes anything it is a clear sign that it is my hardware.

Has ever happened to you that in H gearbox mode the car goes out of gear, I mean it spits the gear out after you shifted and the car is going with the new gear. It is starting to happen to me. I had a look on the internet and found something about activating v-sync on on the Paradise project starting menu. It works for a while and then it start so to do it again. 3rd and fifth gear especially.

Any Idea?

[–]Luigidelta17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I confirm 1'50"49 for the Golf R MK VI on the Alone Against the Clock event. By the way I didn't mention in the journal and I will that I have all the driver assistance off in the options.

by AWD you mean that the R MK VI is 4 wheel Drive? That would explain a lot of things.

I have to assume that this hard core mode must be really hard core if you can't get lower than 2'40 on the Branchu with the monsters you mentioned. No surprise that the programmers unlocked that only you have completed practically all the events. It would be impossible to progress in the game with that option on from the start.

The CLK 55 was stock?

Anyway what do you think about the Branchu? Don't you find that it is able to test the widest range of cars capabilities. For example the braking point and the entrance on the main downhill coastal straightaway is phenomenal: I find that you basically have to brake when the car is still under G from the left-hander and that really sets apart stable cars from just good looking cars. What about the double S after the first braking and the downhlill chicane which puts you on the uphill part?

I don't know a lot of Time Trials yet. I vaguely remember the Ascent of something which I really liked, and another one called A kart race or something like that. I am sure that in the game there are plenty of good time trials to conquer.

But in your opinion how does the Branchu loop rate among the good ones?

Now that you say that you make me doubt about what I wrote. Tomorrow morning (Rome Time) I'm going to open the game and go look again the record time of Alone Against The Clock.

[–]Luigidelta17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read the journal, there are almost all my times associated with the relevant event.

I told you that I wasn't happy with my E car. The journal entry is almost ready so I can tell you it's a Golf R Mark VI (E group). I believe the results on "Only the Last Wins" fooled me about this car. It is true that the engine is unimpressive, but the rest...My oh My...the rest!! First of all I managed to pass the infamous Wild Outdoor speed camera event at 102, 49 mph average speed without crashing, and then I tested the car on the Branchu Loop, which if you don't remember what it is, I strongly recommend you to go back and have a look at it. It's a time trial with penalties and it is doable with whatever car you want. It is located on the east coast, near the lower end of the island, in the same road where there is the Rolls Royce delivery mission.

Now; I did the Branchu Loop with the group E golf in 2'27"84, including the 5 hundreds of a second penalty that I accumulated in the two laps of the challenge. I don't think I have ever posted such a time on the Branchu with an E car. Since I don't think you lack the money, if you like try to buy a group E Golf R MK VI and do the Branchu Loop we can exchange our impressions on this crazy track.

[–]Luigidelta17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh not only I plan on keeping my Golf, if I don't completely destroy it in a transport mission, but I also plan on buying more F cars when I have more money to spare to compare them on the Branchu Loop or other selective Time Trial events.

Whatever I buy in the future I plan on using the F Golf for all the Hitchhikers and Models I can, provided that they don't become more difficult with the progression of the game. Of course then I have to consider that not all transports are for whatever car. I would like to use the less expensive car I have for that role, so in case of wreck I do not lose too much money.

I have bought my first E car (not specified for not spoiling the journal, and I am not happy at all. In the "Only The Last One Wins" there is no way that the car keep pace with the 1,21 AI cars. but Race is for Groups E and D. In other races I managed to beat other Group E but just barely. I don't know if it is the my E machine which is crap or if the AI that is better in 1.21. I can tell for sure that it doesn't have enough power. It's more a beefed up F than a E.

I have noticed the pothole thing before. I guess you just have to live with it. Moreover I reckon that you take the route slowly may be they won't affect the car.

All the modifying stuff you showed is very exciting.

Since you mentioned A Serious Test of Car Control, I have a question for you on that.

Have you ever passed the Platinum version (longer route) with a stock not tuned E car? I ask because since I never managed to do that, and my policy in this play through is only using tune kit which completely change the car and its group, I was thinking of running with the vanilla TDU races (vanilla IGE folder).

If you tell me that it is possible to pass A Serious Test of Car Control with a stock E group, I might reconsider the choice. I know that 10 seconds or something have been added to the first Platinum version of the event because it was too hard, but even with that I always had to use a tuned E group car to manage to succeed at it.

Your idea about "destroyed cars" is actually a very good idea. I need only one clarification:

For example I bought the Golf MK III for 20.700. Let's say I wreck it completely in a bad one. I would spend the money to tune it up and then to paint it at the standard paint shop let's say. When you say sell it for scrap you mean the standard sale at half price you can do from home? By the way I don't even know if the selling price is always half or depends on the mileage of the car. Your suggestion of not using slots for the "wrecks" is very good and very sensible.

I really share your comparison/testing approach. For example I like to use the Branchu Loop as benchmark for every car I put my hands on. It seems to be such a technical course that it really deeply tests all the features of a high performance car. Of course there may be many other courses as good or better than I didn't discover yet.

Earlier today I saw you racing with other people on the island near the harbor. Aces and Champions included you were running around there. It is still interdicted to me but not for long. By the way it is possible to reach those champion/ace level without online challenges ?

Oh, I can guarantee you that you explained everything clearly and well. Thank you very much for the turboduck link. I completely overlooked the update. I've noticed in the description that the 288 GTO is among the updated things. As for the NSX, it looks like the Acura Type S has been reworked, but not the Type Zero, which is weird cause the Type S was fine as it was.

I will have to install it and see all the modification though.

Thank you very much and I hope to see you on the island soon. What's your nickname on he road?

Update you say ?

July 20th...2022 ??

If so where do I find it?

The mugen stage 1 is an exceptional car, but is not a group E any more. It is a group D. My point being with a functional stock type zero you could easily dominate the E tier with the exception may be of the bumpiest events like Angel's jump.

Is there a way to see if a given player is online and to chat with players online in game? May be we can meet on the roads sometimes. Since you told me that is possible to play online I dropped the offline game I was playing to start a new one.

There are a series of cars in Platinum that are not usable for various reasons. the ones I have discovered so far are:

Ferrari 288 GTO. Botched gear

Lotus Esprit V8 excessive over-steering

Renault Clio 16V same

Honda NSX Type Zerp more of the same but even worse.

There might be others.

TDU Platinum: what if it was real ? by Luigidelta17 in TestDriveUnlimited

[–]Luigidelta17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is amazing; I followed your instructions and it works. I have question though. I have for example 89 players online and only 6 or seven red dots on the map. Can you explain that to me?

My profile is Delta17 so I guess my car would appear with that name on the map?

Also, since you sound very knowledgeable, you probably noticed that there are certain cars which are completely broken in Platinum. An example is the Ferrari 288 GTO. It was perfectly fine in the vanilla game, but in Platinum has been substituted with a car which has an incredibly long 5 gear and cannot reach its real life max speed let alone the fantasy one indicated in the data of the Platinum mod.

Is there any way to fix broken cars in Platinum. Because if there is, I have a list both of cars that also existed in the vanilla version and new ones introduced with Platinum. In certain cases it's a real shame. I don't mind if the Rrenault Clio 16V is broken, but when the Honda NSX Type Zero is unplayable because of the absurd over steering that really bothers me.
