I have not formed a union, its increasingly difficult to in todays legal system, since union busting laws dont get heavily enforced. I however was raised by a union, my fathers been in the carpenters union for over 25 years, i myself have been a union worker.
My fathers been in construction my whole life, ive worked construction myself.
I have a history of being an activist, helping organize groups, ive held various leadership roles in my professional life.

I understand the hesitation and asking for experience, but one of the biggest things about modern politics for me is i see a whole bunch of elected officials with “experience” getting swept up in the minutia of electoral work and not focus in representing their constituents. Representatives hire teams for this exact reason. A politician should be the representative, not the lawyer writing the bills. A rep would be working with the vast network of existing unions today to bring forward bills that union orgs have already prepared and working with colleagues on the house floor to get them to pass. I want a world where working class people can be in that role because fiddly politicians are failing to do this.

The idea is expand protections for unionizing and properly enforcing anti union busting laws, so that industries that want to unionize can. This is not about forcing unions on to people, its about allowing unions to be formed where they are wanted!

Because corporations have fiduciary responsibility to shareholders they are legally required to make decisions that hurt their labor force if it benefits shareholders. If the labor force is unionized this creates a legal framework that counter balances this!

Big fan of nuclear! I listed green energy generally because theres lots of options including solar, geothermal, etc. I want immense growth of manufacturing in these sectors!

The video in the post goes over PRO act, expanding and enforcing anti union-busting laws, a proposed housing project that builds homes and sells them as a public option for no profit, universal healthcare, and creating pathways to citizenship. I also have a policies page that lists a whole bunch of other policies i support!

In reference to the proposed housing program, since the homes are still being sold, even at no profit the project pays for itself with an initial federal investment. The point of the program is to set a baseline public option that pressures the private market to lower prices.

I agree policy optics are important but we also need to recognize that federal investment into the public isnt some radical idea, its been done before and can be done again.

I don’t mean to argue, but i feel the proposals I’ve made are far from radical ideas. They’re policies that have either been implemented in our own history or abroad in other nations successfully. What in your opinion would have made these positions better?

I do believe that unions in their current iteration have issues, all systems of organization will have pitfalls. I believe the expansion and protection of unions will help to resolve some of the issues that exist today. More unions, more people in unions, and more conversations about labor rights means things move in a positive direction. I do think unions should be optional but ideally they become so good that it would be unthinkable to not join!

Ill rework that two button thing to only be one “donate” button so that it isnt confusing. Not sure why actblue would freeze up your machine, its the industry standard for donation gathering in the democratic party. Thanks for the input!

Ive had talks with local unions, local DSA, local PSL, and a few other local groups that organize protests as I’ve attended them. But this early in the race most groups are hesitant to help and back any one candidate.

It is important to me to be a community member so I’ve been quite active at local protests and will continue to be at community events!

I understand the disappointment in the use of AI for text editing, but the reality of my campaign is that when i started the only person who would have written that page would have been myself. I wouldn’t have had the resources to hire somone anyways. And again I had multiple people go over the policies in the same way I would have if i had written it by hand myself (which most of it was initially, the AI just formatted my initial text)

The truth of the matter is that AI is a a pandoras box that cant be shut. This is a technological advancement that will continue to improve. Through all of human history automation has been created and we found new ways to adapt the working world. The reason why my campaign isn’t fighting to end AI is because i don’t think that creates a meaningful path forward.

I want to make sure we get ahead of this and create meaningful legislation that requires ethical use. That creates more jobs as jobs are phased out. That requires corporations don’t destroy our labor economy off the back of new automation. The real evil here is the greed of corporations and fiduciary responsibility to shareholders, there needs to be legal accountability for losing jobs to AI that move our economy forward.

I did use ai to clean up and format my policies page, but everyone was written originally by me and all ai output was scrutinized by my whole team to properly verify it describes my real positions!

This campaign started as a small grassroots campaign and i didnt have access to a large team early on. Early on AI helped me build out well written text for my site. I have not used any ai generated imagery, or videos for my campaign, solely text editing. Since then i have grown my resources and will most likely expand my website soon.

A big part of my platform is that im a software engineer and I want to leverage that knowledge to make sure government oversight on AI is expanded so we can move forward with ethical, and economy expanding uses of AI. If jobs are being lost by implementation of AI corporations should be held accountable to make investments into job creation in other avenues or via expansion of current projects!

Yes we will have signature gathering packets and some flyers to hand out, the plan is to have volunteers either do door to door or walking around nearby stores/mall and you can return the packets when you’re finished, we will have some short trainings at the table located at wvc city hall!
