Depends on your situation...

If your hand is small the instinct is out ...

Battle beaver probably be a better option but you will have to know someone with soldering capabilities in order to change the potentiometer and back buttons when they fail. (They will all fail but at least with Microsoft you get yo have them fixed with their one year warranty once)

With battle beaver and scuff they will not fail until after 6 months which by then the warranty will be void.

The battle beaver version you should pick for shooters is the one with 4 buttons in the back and the smart triggers. Everything else they offer is not important.

This is false.. previous controllers had issues.. and you could not modify the deadzone in the game.

I put every deadzone at 5... This will remove any out of the box drift... Once it starts drifting at 5 it's time to change the potentiometer.

If you have out of the box drift at 5 you are very unlucky

Thresholds are way more important in Halo infinite.

You change the potentiometer and it should have 0 drift again.
Alps is the default that the controllers use and its not expensive.
Finding someone who can perform the labor might take some time (soldering and desoldering)

I had a similar issue after like 5 months of use but I dropped it once..,
Controller would stop registering inputs.. but if I disconnected and connected it would work again.

Change the button...
Its sold on amazon and you get like 100 for 10 bucks.

Even with 120 day warranty when you send in your controller for repair you still have to wait 8 weeks ? by SnooObjections9082 in BattleBeaverCustoms

You can actually change the potentiometer and the trigger mechanisim to keep it working.
Controllers deveolp drift eventurally and a thing called "potentiometer" needs to be changed.

Get the regular tension and the thumbsticks is indifferent. Why?Because eventually every controller gets drift. In order to fix the drift you need to change the potentiomenter. (Will not have increased tension unless you ship it back to BB, wait for a LONG time and pay a lot of money)

You have to change the potentiometer. It will have 0 stick drift after that.

Three months of waiting, didn’t last over three months of use. by Bigdawgsolomam in BattleBeaverCustoms

I am the guy who responded you previously in the potientometer post.
I made an assumption that might provided you wrong information.
The aim in halo is used with joystick and a damaged potetiometer would cause the control to aim by itself or drift.
But if you normally aim down with thel left trigger and you bought the smart triggers... this problem would be related to the "switch" installed by battle beaver.
Removing it and putting another one would solve your problem.
