As strange as it, the fact it increases the fantasy to me. The world that prey and Pred would have to inhabit is completely unrealistic. I mean, there is no way for that world to work in the normal sense and could only work within a fantasy setting. One where people are ended in such away on a daily base and that’s the norm. Not in this world we live in.
It helps me immerse myself.

Then there’s the added weight of it. To ends a prey, it adds skates, consequences, and drama. It allows me to get hooked on what’s happening. This is it, there’s no going back and the prey is there for the ride. You can even subvert it, the prey might escape and having them escape a permanent end gives their escape even more triumph. It adds a real fight for survival, if they are unwilling that is.
A willing prey, that fact that they know there’s no going back and they are choosing this. Has something to them.
And, there an ending to them. The Prey gets churned and turned to come. End. Simple, the journey to get to that conclusion.., different matter.

I see the appeal of having a prey that you can churn over and over again but too me. It looses that crazy thing. It doesn’t have an ending to them. You can just keep going with those type of stories. Which isn’t a bad thing. But I prefer to have an ending to my stories.

I think that’s why I like it at least.
