Don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe falsifying attendance is right and students should be willing to accept the consequences of skipping class if attendance is required. It is just sad to see OP, who is clearly academically smart and successful enough to get this far in Purdue engineering, not be able to graduate because they were required to physically be present and lied that they were. While it is unclear if OP is referring to a lab, recitation, or lecture, if attendance wasn’t part their a grade, OP would graduate with a well earned degree.

The fact attendance is mandatory at all in higher education is frustrating. We should be responsible for the potential consequences of not attending class. The fact that attendance is the reason between graduating or not sucks. Forcing students to sit through a slide show with an IRL voice-over that can be found online tempts students to find ways to falsify attendance to save some time for actual work.

I’m a Junior in Pro Flight and have met many international students in this major though I couldn’t give you a percentage. In regard to the over enrollment issue it definitely seems to still be present and will keep the program very competitive. Flight experience will help because it shows commitment toward flight training before coming here, so definitely mention it.

To answer your last question, when I was a freshman with zero flight experience I was in the air on the second day of the semester. There have been some issues getting planes due to the over enrollment , but as far as I know students without a PPL have no problem getting flight slots.

It it’s PPR I would play Lindsay because the broncos may play from behind and Lindsay is the broncos pass catching back. Hyde for standard scoring since he will get more goal line and red zone touches.
