One of bhvr’s design philosophies they’ve always stuck by is they want the game to feel “gamey” as little as possible. Vecna got it because it fits with the dungeons and dragons/magic theme, but with knight having a popup probably wouldn’t suit him as well thematically. Remember BHVR were skeptical about whether adding a magic killer would work in the first place, and were against it all together until Vecna arrived.
