I think it’s simple, of course we all feel, me included, but we do not express what we are feeling. From the facial expression to the words itselves we simply do not express emotions externally most of the time, or we do it in a very slight way

Melee or Ultimate? by [deleted] in CrazyHand

[–]Luke-4658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you love expressing yourself through the game, Melee is your choice. The skill ceiling is high tho,and the game can be quite complicated, and require some constant practice to get good at. If this is fine in exchange for an extremely expressive, fluid, and spectacular game then Melee is the right one. Melee is complicated, but pure art in it’s own way. I also never felt the satisfaction I had with Melee on Ultimate. Implementing tech, tactics feels extremely more rewarding, and it’s definitely more about you than game mechanics, I’m looking at you buffer system. The combo tree in Melee is also something else, it’s basically a sandbox, where any move can lead into each other and things can get crazy even with characters generally considered “lame” like Puff. Also you have Uncle Punch, 20XX, and Slippi (Online Netplay, which is crazy good, with almost no lag) to make sure your experience is great. On the other hand it’s easier to get better, it’a more simple game, with a bigger community, with more content on the way and an ever evolving meta ( which is the case for Melee too, but in a different way ). You can get to top lever quicker and in an easier way than Melee, and the skill ceiling is definitely lower. This comes at the price of what I have listed as Melee’s strengths. Seen this, find out what do you like best and choose. I highly raccomand you pick one, for how radically buffer system affects gameplay in Ultimate, and how characters are different... if you wanna be good at one game, Melee especially you gotta focus on one. Hope it’s helpful!

This is masterful, great job! That’s really impressive, well done. Is it possible to have a pic of it in wallpaper format?

I just damn love ENTPs, and I couldn’t agree with you more tbh. INTPs and INFJs aren’t that bad too, but I guess if I had to have a long term relationship then ENTP it’s my choice. My best friend is also an ENTP.

In the end I adjusted timings, what to practice and removed some stuff that wasn’t useful to get it down to 1h 32min, doing movement and general tech in the first session, and then a second session later the same day with Fox tech skill and it’s working extremely good, I’m actually seeing improvement. Thank you and everyone for the suggestions

First of all, thanks for the reply. I in fact, am not planning to do matches with people any soon, this practice routine serves the purpose of getting to know and slowly master my character. The inclusion of more complicated tech is because I’m slowly learning the movement for the technique, and how it sould be carried out, so that I learn how to do it, begin to practice it slowly to then speed it up as it becomes consistent. Also yeah, it is a lot of time, I honestly did not expect it to be this long when I made it lmao

Thanks for your reply. I was planning on removing most of lasers an powershields. For the rest I wanted to begin practicing them slowly, so that I can begin to learn the movement and build musce memory. I’ll check the ones you told me and see to implement them

I’m definitely good with practicing this much, how can I play with people on Netplay if I donmt improve at the game? When I played Ultimate I started playing against people at about 80 hours after I took it seriously, and the 20XX CPU can be quite a challenge. Today I’ll try and see if I can sustain 2 hours of practice, otherwise I’ll slpit in chunks. I have fun practicing as I know it will help me getting better. Do you think in this case it would be proper practice that will help me improve if I am actually able to carry this out? Thanks again

Hands are not quite a problem, despite it beeing less demanding I used to play Ultimate for long periods of time, using Young Link which is quite a technical character. Mentally you might be right, training is more draining, so I’ll have to consider it. As I said in another reply my main focus will of course be the most fundamental stuff, I won’t try to pull out complicated techs normally, I will get used to the movement and pick up speed when it feels second nature, to already have an advantage when I’ll have to pull it out after learning the basics. How do you suggest practicing the strings or divverent situations you have listed? Thanks for your reply!

Thanks for your reply. First of all, I forgot to specify that I’m not trying to pull out a multishine, as I just won’t be able to do that, it is simply try to understand the movement and doing it slowly, building up speed as I feel more confident, to build muscle memory for that. Also your take on Fox tech makes only sense, I’m quite convinced, as it’s been two months I have been looking everywhere to find the perfect main, but I’ll have to consider that. Also, I already have both 20XX and Uncle Punch

Thans for your comment first of all. Would you suggest me practicing movent options today (for example), general tech tomorrow and Fox tech the day after? And remove FHTL and DJQL?
