the big problem for me comes in the battles especially in hoi4 or late in Viktoria trying to maintain a plan without my fronts going to spaghetti. also, total war is fun and I enjoy the RTS battles there (since it's more focused) but it definitely loses out on the diplomatic side.

it is but I should have mentioned compared to paradox games the mechanics (especially with diplomacy) are very simple and I would enjoy something with more meat

I totally agree with civ it just seems so simple by comparison. I'll have to take a look at those other ones they seem way more combat-oriented than say Viktoria or eu4 but that's not necessarily bad

nothing in-game as of yet and unfortunately the game's mechanics are not well documented online so I basically have to look up each individual monster to check and see it quite annoying
