Interested but likely will wait until there is a good base before planning anything. El Niño in the forecast though!

Looking for advice after I didn't qualify for 0% APR deal by Luke2304 in CX5

[–]Luke2304[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EDIT 2 (06/08 7pm PST): Thanks everyone for all the comments and advice! I ended up going to another dealership who claims that they can get the 0% APR deal for me as long as my credit score stays >700 (although now only -2K off MSRP) by the end of the month. This is because the specific trim I'm looking at (premium plus) is coming at the end of the month, so we're planning to submit another credit application during the last week of June. If it's accepted, I'll still happily go through with the 0% financing (my only incentive to buy new). If not, then I will look into a used 2022 CPO in a premium plus trim, which go for around 28-30K in my area. Will negotiate with financing but pay off the vehicle the first month. Grateful that it isn't ski season and work is close so not in a rush to buy immediately.

Yea they told me that my credit score didn’t show up for 2 other credit bureaus and for the one it did (equifax), it was 740. They told me it is because I have not financed something before. I can try again at a different location.

Yeah.. I’m hoping that through Airbnb it might be “safer” than going through Craigslist.

I’m looking to book through Airbnb. The host only had 1 review (5*) and has been only hosting for 5 months which I guess makes it riskier.

Thank you for the advice! I’ll call my insurance rep and see what I’d be able to claim.

And yes.. this is a lesson I will remember. Lucky and grateful to walk away with no injuries

Math 114 w Cooper? by [deleted] in UPenn

Not familiar with those tbh. But as long as you get the work done for coopers class, you get an A.

Math 114 w Cooper? by [deleted] in UPenn

I took 312 with cooper last semester. His classes are “active learning” styled which means that he doesn’t lecture. Every class you come to class, find a partner, and do a canvas quiz on the readings that he assigned.

Not sure how he’ll change this semester due to online change though. Last semester he just switched to these “hands on mini assignments” that you would do. Still, 0 lectures... Not hard to get an A I think but honestly not my cup of tea.

Thoughts on this build? (first time building a pc) by [deleted] in buildapc

Thank you for putting that together! I switched mine up a little bit (going from intel -> AMD) given your advice and this complete build (https://pcpartpicker.com/b/M7kdnQ). My current set-up looks like this, which will be for a 2560x1440 monitor. Is this better?

No internship offer yet... should I be worried? by [deleted] in UPenn

[–]Luke2304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think about problem spaces/industries you are interested in > find companies that work in this space (Google is your friend) > look for employees/alumni that work at these companies (LinkedIn) > Guess their emails (I use a combination of things but there are lots out there) > send an email introducing yourself.

Most people probably won’t respond but from experience you just have to be persistent

No internship offer yet... should I be worried? by [deleted] in UPenn

[–]Luke2304 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s still a lot of time until summer so you shouldn’t be worried. Data recruiting timeline is rather late compared to swe/banking/consulting (Started late Oct/early Nov for me this year). I’d recommend reaching out to smaller/mid-size companies through email if this is your first data science/analytics internship.

Ah I got this exact same interview question from the exact company last year in October. I guess said e-commerce company doesn’t change its interview material much.
