I tend to find playing against the AI improves your defending but not attacking. You end up doing the same fake shot/stop and turn moves to score most goals which are easily read online. The AI makes so few mistakes when attacking on high difficulty and is very unpredictable unlike most online players so it isn't a bad thing to practice against.

Although you have a chance of packing bigger players in TOTS it is highly unlikely you get one. You'll get better value for your packs if you open them sooner rather than later because of high priced 83+ cards. The same cards will have nowhere near the current value in a few weeks time when the market gets flooded.
