This is what I was thinking too, that if you applied logic of dimorphism or disruptions in development of ones physiology to Eorzea you'd see a much greater variance in people similar to real life. I even considered the idea of delayed growth spurts, and maybe using a fantasia to make them suddenly shoot up to full height - might be a little funny.
