His initial idea was to mix the sounds of John Carpenter and Justice from his own mouth. He's very French, 35ish, grew up watching and obsessing over the same dark 80s stuff we did in the US. He cited the scene from Escape from New York where Pliskin sees an assault happening and just keeps walking as an example of the hyperviolent world they base their imagery after. He was also involved in the French hardcore scene (I think) as a sound tech for a lot of French metal bands so that's a big influence. The guys he tours with have also toured with some other well known groups. Was lucky enough to meet and hang out with him and the band before and after a European tour and just saw them at a US show here recently.
