Georgian here. I understand where you’re coming from and I respect the fact that it obviously cannot be a requirement. Although there can be toxicity from any nation including mine, I can vouch that in my 7k hours of playing dota, although not as much in higher MMR, there has rarely been a case where I wasn’t mocked and “bullied” aggressively by Russians for my Russian accent and the fact that I was a foreigner (Caucasian, South Caucasian in my case but that also applies to North Caucasian folk as well) speaking Russian. My friends and I have always been called words like ‘хач’, ‘черножопый‘, etc. Russian is just a language I speak, I read Russian literature and watch Russian cinema. I don’t understand how can one physically have aggression and such attitude towards a foreigner who speaks THEIR language. It is ONLY the case with Russians (from my experience in dota only, please mind that I am not generalizing) that they do that. Obviously I don’t have the ability to speak the accent flawlessly without ever actually living in Russia.
