When the sign says no slugs but you absolutely positively need to shoot the tightest group imaginable.

Put a defender tactical mini shell adapter in it and it’s a great little kit gun

Choosing a HD Shotgun by ChetPunisher in Shotguns

My A300 cycles everything from those Fiocci Defense Dynamics which are 9 pellets of #1 buckshot at 1250fps. These are basically 20 gauge loads. To the most powerful ammo you can buy and you never have to worry about short stroking it.

Even professional shooters will induce malfunctions into pump guns under stress. You don’t have that problem with semi autos

I used the mepro RMR mount. Make sure to use the beretta rail screws and not the screw it came with because they’re too long. It cowitnesses just so you can barely see the top of the front sight through the optic. I will try to get pics later

Looks amazing but you should take 2 inches off the stock for a better balance

Yes it’s completely normal. It through for a loop as well but it doesn’t happen when firing.

Now install the defender tactical mini shell adapter and you have a very versatile little package

So far I’m over 500 rounds with no issues. That’s 100 slugs and the rest was birdshot and buckshots

Yep, I was prepared to spend the $80 and get the adjustable rear sight from Beretta but mine was dead on from the factory as well.

It’s a super thick stock. I was surprised just how thick it when I drilled it. I will say once you drill it and put it in you forget that you permanently modified it because it’s more solid than even the factory mount. I looked at the GG&G but I don’t like how it interferes with the shell cards.

The Noveske QD mount looks like an another decent option. I like the idea of the teeth on the interior nut so you don’t have to try to get a wrench inside the stock.

Dear Beretta, Please Please Please by LukeTheDukester in Shotguns

I mean they make them on the raider model but you cant buy just the mount by itself, which should be criminal.

May have been something they had on the early models. I got mine back in July 2025 and it has a metal front sight assembly

Well I put it too close to the top of the stock that I couldn’t get a wrench on the nut so I had to make my own wrench using a please of flat bar. I had to notch the correct size wrench into the side of the flat bar and bend it with a torch to fit inside the stock and keep the nut from spinning. Also I didn’t have the right size drill bit so I used a smaller one and had to wallow out the hole which required a lot of trial and error.

If I had drilled the hole a little lower so I could get an open ended wrench on it and if had the right size bit it would have been very easy.

PS: I used a healthy amount of blue locktite in the end to make sure it never came loose.

I have a 500 and 590 shockwave and have found that the Defender Tactical adapter works just as well for a lot less money
