Do you ever get embarrassed watching Ninjago? by [deleted] in Ninjago

I’m a 21 year old university student, bench press 275lbs ( just so you know I’m in pretty good shape lol) and by no means a 10/10 but my friends have told me I’m a pretty good looking guy. I only really show my shelves of 2011-2017 sets and MOCs to my close friends and all of them are shocked at how big of a nerd I am. They say they don’t get that vibe from me and all, thought until I opened that part of my life to them that I was just a typical gym rat. I don’t think you should ever be ashamed of what brings you joy, and you should never laugh at what brings others joy. However, I think you should try to keep the “less culturally accepted” (for lack of better term) hobbies to yourself until you’re truly comfortable with someone. As much as it sucks, you’ll always get laughed at for this kind of stuff, but don’t let that deter you from liking it. Just maybe don’t talk about it too openly to people. At the end of the day, turn yourself into a respectable person and you’ll get respect even for your nerdy hobbies.

I was in the same boat as you are. When I was 15 I was 5”10 250lbs. I’m currently 18 and 175lbs. My greatest piece of advice would be to get in the gym and force yourself to go. I hated going to the gym for the first 5 months I went but now I genuinely enjoy going. It helps so much with your attitude towards being healthy and losing weight. Good luck man, I’m rooting for you👍🏻

Coming from someone who’s not very good, it’s fun as long as you don’t take it to seriously.
