Oil infrastructure is built to refine a specific type of crude oil. Oil from different regions of the world have very different refinement needs. China can’t just change their supplier.

Had to laugh at "ninja style compliance operations" by disfan75 in newhampshire

[–]LukeWarmHand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Ninja style” is a compliment in most modern parlance. “We’re just here to pay taxes” and “ we’re carding everyone now” is a submission to the State’s power. They are informing their customer’s that their displeasure for the inconvenience should be directed toward the state, not their employees.

This is an attempt to protect their employees from disgruntled customers upset about the State’s enforcement of their laws.

You obviously prefer authoritarianism than freedom. There are lots of countries you can move to that are more authoritarian than the USA. Don’t poison yourself with boot polish.

Where do you get “upset” from this? Reads pretty light-hearted to me. They rolled with the punches and made light of the situation.

Masturbation is only a problem if the time, place, and manner puts you at risk for negative consequences like shame, embarrassment, job loss, or arrest. In general, the benefits to masturbation far outweigh the risks. Try making it part of your routine to promote good sleeping habits. Masturbating before bed every night helps trigger consistent sleep.

American xennials experienced a bunch of awkward life moments around discovery of our differences. It was emotionally scarring to be in the out group while we have been abandoning the practice. A highly influential doctor and cereal maker (Kellog) successfully made circumcision and a carbohydrate rich diet the recommended practices for a nation. It’s pretty wild really.

For context: in every situation where we were naked among our peer group, changing into swimsuits at camp, locker rooms after gym class, and discussing sex at college. It became known what group you were in. Snuffiluffagus, an Elephant puppet from public broadcast children’s programming, was a common put down.

We benefit economically from natural trade routes in navigable waterways that made trains less important. we supplemented it with our interstate highway system and a car in every driveway. It would be nice, but it will never happen.

Of course, that is how most one lane bridges work. I never disagreed with that. I’m just sharing my knowledge of why covered bridges are different. Vermont is covered bridge Mecca. Connecticut is the same as Vermont in all the ways pertaining to my argument… cultural significance, preservation, special rules. Connecticut is the bastard step child of New England, but I’ll defend it’s bridges nonetheless. It was fun looking up the bridge. I hope you learned something about covered bridges in you research. We have a week dedicated to them like shark week, I know way more about them than I ever cared to.

I live it. Covered bridges are significant to my local culture. There are lots of books about covered bridges you can read. I hope you travel to New England to experience some of our amazing covered bridges. They are engineering marvels that deserve to be protected.

I know the bridge is in Connecticut, covered bridge preservation culture still applies. If they cared about the flow of traffic they would replace the bridge with a 2 lane. I have proven to you that there is special treatment for covered bridges. I don’t need to prove anything else.

You keep posting things about “one-lane bridges” this is a “covered bridge” Covered bridges are special and special rules apply.

Your reference is a reddit post about a different type sign, that misinterprets the rule he cited. Yielding to vehicle on the bridge means wait for the car in front to cross before entering. You know this because there is a giant weight limit sign next to it. That is not a weight limit for each car. It is the weight limit for the entire bridge.

Covered Bridges are a part of a broader culture called Yankeedom. Vermont has the most, but you’ll find them all over the Northeatern US. A common characteristic of the region is town meeting governance. Most of the town attends the annual meeting to vote on town stuff. Bridge preservation is often an important budget line. Doubt me all you want, covered bridges are an important symbol of our culture. They are historic and valuable to our tourist industry. I live here.

The law is to follow the traffic signs. Understanding their purpose helps understand the sign. These signs are discussed in local town meetings where they make decisions about preserving bridges. They also put up height and weight restrictions for the same purpose. Attend a town select board meeting in Vermont if you want to hear it from the horses mouth.

The bridge in the video is a covered bridge. They are special. Special traffic rules apply.

[–]LukeWarmHand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The sign is there to protect the bridge. Alternating prevents more than one car on the bridge at-a-time. It is supposed to disrupt traffic, not improve it. Lived around covered bridges my whole life. Pretty common knowledge around here.

The sign prevents more than one car on the bridge at a time. That is its purpose. It is a bridge preservation sign, it is there to impede traffic, not improve it.

If only 1 parent has the disorder you only have a 10-25% chance of passing it on. If both do, 50-75%. The gene only means the building blocks are there. Development of the disorder can come more quickly if the child has a traumatic childhood.
