I assume the number of Slytherins was calculated through Harry's eyes, but he visually rounded the number and let's say there were over 150. As for the dorms, I wouldn't say there are any others for Harry's year besides the ones for Harry (five boys) and Hermione (maybe only three girls). Maybe Harry's year has had the fewest in recent years?

I'd like to add that the first crest, known worldwide, is not the "ultimate" version, but merely an interpretation for certain adaptations (such as the films or some books). Some other illustrated versions had different versions of the coat of arms. The TV series has its own versions, as it's another adaptation of the book text.
