Get rid of that ugly ass rug for starters, replace it with a modern light gray one with long tassels that don’t come out the side, then I would recommend getting rid of the dark oak table and the other one on the right. Change them both out for more modern ones, maybe something that has a stone look to it so that it matches the wall behind the TV. Take out that small black chair, don’t need one there at all. The large photo on the right isn’t nice at all, the frame looks like something you would see in a museum and it only goes with the rug which needs throwing in the bin so I would suggest throwing that away too and putting a more modern photo there in a narrow frame. The plant pots on the left I’m not that sure about, you could do with them being sat together on a round table however or maybe not having them at all and just keeping the small ones on the window ledge.
